US denies BJP charge that it is working "anti-Modi" ::: Of course there's more to these !!

(There's fundamentally different between US Govt/President and 'deep state' )

The United States on Saturday rejected the BJP allegations that organisations funded by the US State Department and elements within the American “deep state” were behind efforts to destabilise India through targeted attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and business tycoon Gautam Adani.

“The US government works with independent organisations on programming that supports professional development and capacity building training for journalists. This programming does not influence the editorial decisions or direction of these organisations,” the US official said.  

The OCCRP, headquartered in Amsterdam, is a media platform that largely focuses on stories relating to crime and corruption.

The BJP had referred to a French media report and said it revealed that OCCRP is funded by the US State Department's USAID, along with other “deep state figures” like George Soros and the Rockefeller Foundation.

“It's disappointing that the ruling party in India would make these kinds of accusations,” the US embassy spokesperson said.

In Rajya Sabha, BJP member Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that there was a concerted effort by “foreign hands” to derail the Viksit Bharat (developed India) agenda.  

The opposition party demanded an apology and forced adjournment in the House after BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey sought to know if Gandhi had connections with forces trying to “derail” India’s growth trajectory. 

Dubey took to the floor during Zero Hour, beginning with the slogan: "Congress ka haath Soros ke saath [Congress is hand in glove with Soros]."

In the House, Congress leaders wore stickers alleging a nexus between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Adani Group inside and outside the House. Gandhi too, put a sticker on his T-shirt saying “Modi, Adani Ek Hain (Modi, Adani are the same)”. An irked Speaker Om Birla reminded the Congress MPs that only the Tricolour can be added to the members’ attire.

"I am not scared to say this word. I don't have any hesitation to call the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha a traitor," BJP MP Sambit Patra said at a press conference. 

Congress MP K C Venugopal said: "...We are witnessing a bulldozing attitude of the government to suppress the move of the opposition. Yesterday one of the members gave a very derogatory remark against LoP and another member of the House and Congress party.

Another member gave a derogatory remark outside parliament. Congress party has given a privilege motion against both of the leaders...

While we are giving the complaint against derogatory remarks of the member, the same member is allowed to do the same thing today...".

The BJP has said that from 2023 until now, OCCRP has published around 5-7 articles targeting Adani. 

"While there are thousands of major corporations globally, OCCRP seems singularly focused on just Adani.  Prior to targeting Adani, OCCRP had a similar focus on Putin. A clear pattern appears to be emerging!”  

The saffron outfit had also said - "Congress caused significant disruptions in Parliament was the Pegasus controversy. 

The common link between the Adani and Pegasus issues is that the material used by the Congress party to target the government in both cases was provided by OCCRP, a Europe-based investigative journalism group. This suggests a possible special connection between Congress and the OCCRP in promoting these narratives against India.”
