ARMY, ASSAM RIFLES AND MANIPUR POLICE RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION ::::: Kangpokpi, Imphal and Chandel districts

 JOINT OPERATIONS BY INDIAN ARMY, ASSAM RIFLES AND SECURITY FORCES RESULTS IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN MANIPUR


In a series of successful joint operations, Indian Army, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Police and other security forces, recovered 29 weapons, ammunition and warlike stores (WLS) from both hill and valley regions in the districts of Churachandpur, Chandel, Kangpokpi and Imphal East of Manipur.


Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area L. Jangnomphai in Kangpokpi district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 7th December and recovered 

a sniper rifle, a 0.22 pistol, two  9mm pistols, a 7.65mm pistol, and a .303 bolt action rifle, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.


On 10th December, an intelligence-based operation in general area Tingkhai Khullen, 10.5 km South West of Kotlen Village, in Kangpokpi resulted in recovery of one 9mm Carbine Machine Gun (CMG), 

one .303 Single Bolt Sniper Rifle, one 9mm pistol, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.











In Chandel district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint search operation on 11 Dec 24 and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a 9mm pistol, three locally made mortars and a single-barrel gun, ammunition and war like stores.


Intelligence based operations were launched for two days on 11th and 12th December in Churachandpur district in general areas of Telsing and Laijang villages respectively. 


The operation in Telsing village resulted in recovery of a .303 rifle, a 9mm pistol, four factory-made 12mm single-barrel rifles, a .22 rifle, and a 12mm shotgun, ammunition and war like stores. Similarly, the operation in Laijang village resulted in apprehension of four cadres and recovery of one MA-1 (MK-I) assault rifle, an air gun, ammunition and war like stores.








In Imphal East district, Indian Army and Assam Rifles launched a joint search operation in fringe areas of under Irilbung Police Station (PS) on 13th Dec and recovered one 5.56 mm MA 4 Assault Rifle, one single barrel rifle, two Pistols, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.


The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police. 


The successful recovery of these warlike stores highlights the seamless cooperation between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and other law enforcement agencies, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the region.
