"Khoon mooh pe lag gaya"

"Congress tasted blood ... by changing Constitution...It was started by Nehru and the sin continued her Indira Gandhi" - PM Modi

"People who have not shown respect to their own party Constitution is talking about Indian Constitution," - says Modi

We also amended Constitution, but we did for country's unity, and empowering women and OBCs: PM

Seeds sown by first PM Nehru in changing Constitution was followed up by Indira Gandhi who even overturned SC decision, he said. PM said the same trend continued under Rajiv Gandhi and referred to the now infamous Shah Bano judgement by Supreme Court and how Congress regime had favoured the "fundamentalists" and did not help a needy woman.

"From 1947 to 1952, there was no elected government in the country. There was a selected government back then because the elections hadn't been conducted yet.

Before 1952, there was no Rajya Sabha and elections were not even held in states... During that time, former PM Pandit JL Nehru wrote a letter to the chief ministers that if Constitution comes in the way it should be changed," says PM

Modi blames Congress for problems in Jammu and Kashmir, says Parliament was bypassed in bringing Article 35A.

"It had become Gandhi family's habit to insult and disregard Constitution: PM Modi

Replying to the debate on Glorious years of 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, PM Narendra Modi said in Lok Sabha that "India is not only world's largest democracy... It is also the Mother of Democracy.

"For all of us, for all citizens and for all democracy-loving citizens across the world, this is a moment of great pride...", he said.

He said unity of the country always is given top priority by his Government and therefore Article 370 was abrogated.

Similarly, he said the GST has helped in ensuring One Country, One Tax and that means the GST helped in achieving economic unity.

PM said his government also introduced One Country, One Ration Card. He also cited the example of One Nation, One Health Card and said on this Ayushman card has helped a lot.

He also mentioned 'One Nation, One Creed'. Similarly, he said united efforts are made for infrastructure development.

The country should not have Digital Haves and Digital Have-nots.

Narendra Modi says, "Era has changed. We do not want haves and haves not situation in digital sector. That is why, we proudly say that the reason behing Digital India success story is that we tried to democratise technology..."

"That I got elected as Prime Minister three times would not have been possible without this Constitution", Modi said.

"Congress ka mathey ka paap (on Emergency) dhul ne wala nahi hae" -- PM Modi

"One family of Congress did not leave anything to chance to degrade India's Constitution" -- Modi adding, "the family has always challenged India's Constitution and their 'ku-riti still continues".

PM Modi says, "Several times, there was power in one part of the country but it was not supplied. So, there was pitch dark in the other part. During the previosu government, we saw India being defamed before the world through headlines. We have seen those days.

That is why, with the mantra of unity and upholding the sense of Constitution, we fulfilled One Nation One Grid. That is why, today there is uninterrupted power supply in all corners of India."

The trend of violating Constitution norms started by Nehru and was continued by Indira and Rajiv Gandhi. The same situation prevailed under their successor too.

He referred to a book and cited wherein PM Dr Manmohan Singh said the party president is the 'source' of strength.

He said in violation of Constitution norms, the National Advisory Council was created and pointed out that Rahul Gandhi had insulted the Ordinance passed by the Manmohan Singh cabinet.

"The saddest part is the cabinet was compelled to change the decision," he said.
