On the No-Confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Rajya Sabha LoP and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge says, “The Chairman is an umpire and he should not take anyone’s side. When the Leader of the House JP Nadda speaks, he gets 5-10 minutes.
"On the other hand, we keep our hands up for a chance to speak and our mics are turned off... I am not the only one who signed (the No-Confidence motion) … It’s unfair if I’m solely getting blamed… The ruling party comes prepared to get the house adjourned… I will keep fighting for my self-respect and what we deserve constitutionally…”.

(Please think over what you are doing, I have not left anything to chance about showing respect to all of you)," Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar told Opposition members in Rajya Sabha on Friday, Dec 13.
"I am a farmer's son; I won't show any weakness.
'Desh ke liye mar jaunga, mit jaunga'. I am pained; I request you all to think... I have never hesitated in giving respect. Look at the gesturing... look at what you are saying. I have tolerated a lot. Today, a farmer is not just limited to the farms, farmers are working everywhere, they have government jobs, industries," said Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
The Congress and other INDI alliance partners have decided to move a No Confidence Motion against Rajya Sabha chairman Dhankhar.
He particularly told LoP Mallikarjun Kharge, "Please do chintan (soul searching) before you sleep tonight".
Amid slogan shouting by Opposition members, the chairman Dhankhar said - "I will stand by my oath" and wondered why in a press conference the opposition leaders have raised the issue that "what has happened to our notice".
"It is important for the nation that the House is able to conduct its business," he said amid din.
BJP MP Neeraj Shekhar said the Opposition members were not comfortable that a son of a farmer and from OBC community is in the chair.
"They did not even cheer for the young chess chamption (D Gukesh)... They are not interested on whether people are progressing or not. They are only interested in the progress of one dynasty," Shekhar said.
On the debate on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha today, BJP MP Ravi Kishan says,
"...There should be a discussion on the Constitution so that everyone knows how Prime Minister Modi protected the Constitution and how the Constitution was mocked and used as a toy... They carry copies of the Constitution whose pages are blank and today the truth will come out..."
