"Congress mar raha hae,,,,

Pakistani ro rahen haen -- "The Congress is dying here and Pakistanis are crying," PM Modi's season best dig at Rahul Gandhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, May 2, referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said Pakistan was desperate to make 'Shehzada' the prime minister. He also said the Congress party was a 'mureed' (follower) of Pakistan.

"Maza yeh hae ki yeanh Congress mar rahi hae ayr wahan Pakistan ro raha hae....,"

"The Congress is dying here and Pakistanis are crying," the Prime Minister said, addressing an election rally in Gujarat's Anand, adding, "Pakistan leaders want to make 'Shehzada' of Congress India's prime minister."

The Prime Minister's remarks came as Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, a former minister in Imran Khan's cabinet in Pakistan, praised Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.  The former Pakistan minister shared a video on X, featuring Rahul Gandhi targetting the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chaudhry Fawad captioned the video "Rahul on fire...".

Slamming the Congress party further, PM Modi, during the rally, said, "The country has seen Congress's rule for 60 years, and BJP's 'seva-kaal' for 10 years. In Congress's 60 years of rule, around 60 per cent of the rural population did not have the facility of toilets. BJP accomplished this in just 10 years."

Prime Minister Modi also alleged the Congress wants to change India's Constitution to give reservations of the Scheduled Casts (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) to Muslims.

"I challenge Congress to give in writing that they will not change the Constitution to give reservations on a religious basis," he said.

Listing out the BJP's achievements, PM Modi said, "In the past 10 years, we gave tap water connections to 14 crore houses, while the Congress gave it to just 3 crore houses in 60 years."

"I have been working in Gujarat for many years. In 2014, you sent me to serve the country. While working in Gujarat, we had a mantra that Gujarat's development is for India's development. I have only one dream, when we complete 100 years of Independence in 2047, India should be a 'Viksit Bharat'," the Prime Minister said.

The Union Labour and Employment ministry says 35 percent of India's youth are students while 22 percent are involved in domestic duties.

Therefore, they cannot be termed 'unemployed'. A lot of them are also engaged in fractional employment which is not accounted for.

The Ministry says a large proportion of India's population is of working age (15-59 years) and is expected to remain in this potential demographic dividend zone for at least another 10 years or so.

Countering the youth unemployment data of the International Labour Organisation, the ministry said the youth (aged 15-29 years) unemployment in 2022 was just 5 percent down from 7 percent in 2019, while the unemployment rate for adults (aged 30-59 years) was one percent in 2022 as well as 2019.

Labour and employment secretary Sumita Dawra called senior ILO officials and conveyed the government's displeasure over the India Employment Report 2024, prepared by the Institute for Human Development in collaboration with a multilateral organisation, reports 'The Economic Times'.

"In its two rounds of meeting with ILO officials, following the release of the report on March 26, India said that despite being part of a country programme, the ILO did not collaborate with India and did not seek its view on the report before making it public," said one of the persons, who did not wish to be identified.
