Karnataka government will observe 3 days of mourning on the demise of former Karnataka CM SM Krishna. His last rites will be performed with full state honours. No functions and no celebrations will be held in these three days.

On the demise of Former Karnataka CM SM Krishna, State BJP President BY Vijayendra says, "We have lost a great leader and former CM SM Krishna. It is the saddest thing. SM Krishna is known as 'Ajaatashatru' (liked by everyone). 

Being the CM, union minister and governor worked in many such great positions, he gave a lot to Karnataka, as a finance minister, and irrigation minister and has done so much good to north Karnataka as well. 

Even before I became the MLA and President of the party, I met him many times and took his blessings. 

Whenever I met him, I used to get inspiration to work, we used to get moral support. We lost such a great person, I pray for his soul. Rest In Peace. 

He has followers throughout the country, I wish his family and followers the strength to bear this pain."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge tweets, "Extremely saddened by the passing away of Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Former Union Minister, Shri S M Krishna. A true champion of development, he made significant contributions to the state and the nation. 

It is a personal loss for me, for we worked as colleagues, both at the State and National level". 

On the demise of former Karnataka CM SM Krishna, former cricketer Anil Kumble says, "His demise is a huge loss for Karnataka...As a CM his contribution to the state goes beyond his tenure. Bengaluru to become 'Silicon Valley' and to put on the map itself is his contribution, that will always be remembered...".
