Things moving to next stage:
BJP spokesman C R Kesavan says:
"Is George Soros the real sinister face behind the murky mask which is the Congress party? Why is Rahul Gandhi so scared?
Why is Rahul Gandhi so petrified that he does not even utter a word about the allegations over the sordid nexus between the Congress party and George Soros.
"Is George Soros the all powerful political puppet master who controls Rahul Gandhi and dictates every move of the Congress party?"
The Modi Govt now says :
"... even if their leaders are found to have links with anti-India forces, Congress leaders and workers should raise their voices".
Opposition MPs including Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi hold a protest over Adani matter at the Parliament premises.
MPs of Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party are not participating in this protest.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju told reporters: "I think that few issues before the country shouldn't be seen with political lenses. George Soros and his links - that have come to light - we do not see it as an issue relating Congress party, Rahul Gandhi.
"We should take the issue seriously - if it is related to anti-India forces.
We do not see this as party politics...
"We have told Congress and other parties that we will discuss over the Constitution on December 13 and 14 (in Lok Sabha) and on December 16 and 17 (in Rajya Sabha)... I want to appeal to the leaders of Congress party and its workers that if even their leaders are found to have links
with anti-India forces, they also should raise their voices..."
BJP alleges that none less than Sonia Gandhi 'linked to group' financed by George Soros Foundation ::: Nishikant Dubey to ask 10 questions in Lok Sabha
"Soros तथा OCCRP से कॉंग्रेस पार्टी तथा विपक्षी पार्टियों के नेताओं के सम्बन्ध, उनके द्वारा देश तोड़ने की साज़िश,संसद की कार्यवाही को स्थगित करने के लिए JPC बनाया जाना चाहिए ।" - tweeted BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
(There is a need for a JPC probe as to why Parliament is being adjourned and also to look at the nexus between Soros group and OCCRP and Congress party and other Opposition parties and the leaders".)
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari says, "The govt is trying to not let the House function... Its image is worsening among people. We want the House to function and to have a debate on Adani, farmers and Manipur issue..."
"Farmers want to come here (in Delhi). They are in very limited numbers, they should be allowed. The govt should listen to their demand. They (protesting farmers) are demanding things not for their own but for farmers and the country."
BJP's official Twitter handle has also alleged that the "association" between Sonia Gandhi and an organisation that has backed the idea of Kashmir as an "independent nation expresses the influence of foreign entities" on India’s internal affairs and the political impact of such connections.
Notwithstanding the US's dismissal of the BJP's allegations that it was backing attempts to destabilise India, BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey said he would pose 10 questions to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on the issue.
The saffron party's Tweet talks about - "This thread (relations) underlines a connection between the Congress party and George Soros, implying their shared goal of diminishing India's growth. Sonia Gandhi, as the Co-President of the FDL-AP Foundation, is linked to an organisation financed by the George Soros Foundation."
It also said that the FDL-AP Foundation has expressed their views that treat Kashmir as a separate entity.
The BJP further claimed that Sonia Gandhi's chairmanship of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation led to a partnership with the George Soros Foundation, "displaying the influence of foreign funding on Indian organisations".
"Rahul Gandhi's press conference on Adani was live telecast by George Soros-funded OCCRP, which Gandhi used as a source to criticise Adani. It shows nothing but their strong and dangerous relationship and highlights their attempts to derail the Indian economy," it said.
"Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has publicly acknowledged George Soros as an 'old friend'. It's something truly noteworthy," it added.
The BJP's allegations came after it claimed on December 5 that the US "deep state" colluded with OCCRP and Rahul Gandhi to damage India's image.
The US has rather on a defensive note rejected BJP's allegations that organisations funded by its State Department and elements in the American "deep state" were behind attempts to destabilise India through targeted attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and business tycoon Gautam Adani.
BJP MP Dubey said, "Yesterday, I read the statement of the US embassy officials again and again. They admitted that the US government funds OCCRP and Soros's foundation also funds it."
The job of OCCRP and Soros is to ruin India's economy and defame the Modi government in connivance with opposition leaders, he said in his post on X in Hindi.
"After yesterday's statement, I will have to ask Rahul Gandhi my 10 questions in the Lok Sabha. The opposition is trying to suppress my voice in Parliament. Lok Sabha Rule 357 gives me the right to ask questions. Waiting for tomorrow (on Monday)," the MP said.
Displaying the bitterness and growing differences between Congress and BJP, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju flayed Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and tweeted:
"No need to act, as if you are on the payroll of George Soros. Democracy and Diplomacy are for the country's interest, not means to abuse- own country in tandem with the adverse foreign elements. Expected better from you Shashi".
