Rahul Gandhi's bold remarks on Sikhs justify demand for Khalistani state: Pannun
This is a case now to demand resignation of #RahulGandhi as LoP #LokSabha #Sickularism gang shud b questioned.
Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said Rahul Gandhi's statement on the "existential threat to Sikhs in India is not only bold and pioneering, but is also firmly grounded in the factual history of what Sikhs have been facing under successive regimes in India since 1947".
While speaking at an event in Herndon, Virginia, on Monday, the Congress leader said, "The fight (in India) is about whether a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear a turban...whether a Sikh will be allowed to wear a kada or go to the Gurudwara. That's what the fight is about, and it's not just for Sikhs, but for all religions."
"(It) - Rahul's statement - also corroborates SFJ's (Sikhs for Justice) stance on the justification for the Punjab Independence Referendum to establish a Sikh homeland, Khalistan," he added.
Sikhs for Justice is a US-based group run by Pannun.
On Congress MP & LoP Rahul Gandhi, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami says, "Whenever Rahul Gandhi speaks, he harms the country's security and pride. His recent statement in connection with Sikhs, giving such statements is harming the morale of Sikhs and also giving way to raising questions about the country's security system. There is no difference in language used by him and Khalistani Pannu."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah slams Rahul Gandhi
"Speaking anti-national things and standing with forces that break the country has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.
Whether supporting the anti-national and anti-reservation agenda of JKNC in Jammu and Kashmir or speaking anti-India things on foreign forums, Rahul Gandhi has always hurt the security and sentiments of the country...," he tweeted.
"By talking about ending reservation from the country, Rahul Gandhi has once again brought the anti-reservation face of the Congress in front of the country...I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that as long as there is BJP, no one can touch reservation and no one can play with the unity of the country," the Home Minister said.
Union Minister For Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has said that a forensic analysis is required on Rahul Gandhi about his state of mind when he made the statement on people from the Sikh community wearing turban and ‘kada’.
"First of all, you have to understand what the fight is about. The fight is not about politics. That is superficial," Gandhi said as he asked one of the Sikh attendees in the front rows to give his name. "What is your name, brother with the turban," he asked.
"The fight is about whether a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear his turban in India or a kada in India. Or he, as a Sikh, is going to be able to go to a Gurdwara.
That's what the fight is about. And not just for him, for all religions," said Gandhi, who is on a four-day visit to the US, which began Saturday.
Speaking to Republic TV, Hardeep Singh Puri reacted to Congress leader's statement and questioned, “whether Rahul Gandhi made this statement because he wants to incite trouble in India or is he strongly influenced by someone who does not wear a turban or wear a ‘patka’ which represents a lunatic fringe and espouses a separatist call… I don't know.”
Hardeep Puri Singh said that Sikhs have never shied away from wearing turban and they don't need anybody's permission to wear it.
