Faith and Laddu controversy ::::: 'Freeing' Hindu temples from Govt control is must now !!

Of Sinning and Sinned against !!

 Lord Krishna to Arjuna :

"Yat Karosi, yat ajnasi

Yat Juhoshi, dadasi yat

Yat Tapasyasi, Parantapa

Tat Karosi Mayyaarpanam

(Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you take, whatever you give, whatever penance you do ----O Arjuna, render all as offerings to me)

The controversy surrounding Tirupati Laddus and the demand for "freeing" temples across the country from government control are among the key issues to be discussed at a meeting of the VHP's apex body in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

The day-long meeting of the Vishva Hindu Parishad's (VHP) Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal, to be held in Tirupati city, will also discuss the issue of religious conversion.

VHP national secretary general Bajrang Bagda said, "The day-long meeting will discuss the present challenges before Hindu society and the ways to resolve them.

"The meeting is also expected to discuss the issue of "desecration" of the laddu served in the Tirupati Balaji temple, which is causing "great distress" to Hindu society, and take a decision on the VHP's future course of action, he added.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) prepares around 3.5 lakh laddus every day. Pilgrims share the precious prasadam with friends, well wishers and family across India and the world.

This controversy was unwarranted and the sentiments have been hurt badly certainly. Faith is crucial to all religions but more so with the Hinduism because various rituals have also come up related to this simple word called 'Faith'. This is the 'faith' that makes millions and zillions believe that a stone is more than a stone or a clay work is actually the God they would worship.

Someone has rightly said - perhaps decades back that - a genuine Faith in miracles actually means being optimism or living with hope all the time. It is actually a trigger.

Confirming that adulterated ghee was indeed supplied by one of the suppliers, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer J Shyamala Rao on Friday announced that action had been initiated against AR Dairy Food Pvt Ltd, a Tamil Nadu-based firm, to blacklist it.

Addressing a press conference at the meeting hall in Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, he explained in detail how the TTD was improving the quality of the ghee used in preparing Srivari Laddus.

“When I assumed charge (on June 16 this year), Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told me about complaints he had received of poor ghee and Laddu quality in Tirumala and also about complaints of the usage of animal fats. He asked me to focus on improving the quality of the Prasadam and protect the sanctity of the temple,” he noted.

Revealing that the TTD has no lab of its own to test ingredients for adulteration, the EO recalled that soon after assuming office, he received feedback from people and experts about the poor quality of ghee.
