Nagaland Peace : Saboteurs cut a sorry figure !! Machinations of those who pushed a faulty Resolution were snubbed by voices of dissent

Peace : Rays of hope come from Azo and GB Federation

New Delhi

The resolution adopted at the Consultative meeting at Kohima on Thursday could be different. One can call them - "a set of politically correct or incorrect" pointers; but there were voices of dissent.

One of them was GB Federation leader Shikuto Zalipu and the other one being NPF leader and Phek town legislator Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu.

Given time only post-lunch, G B leader Zalipu said, "It will be wrong to blame either the centre or the Neiphiu Rio government for the delay as the Talks were stalled temporarily due to Covid and then elections came in Assam and also Nagaland (in 2023).

We need to be practical to move ahead in order to find Solution. We have to pray that no natural calamities come in future".

He also said, "Ground preparation has to be foolproof....To call for unity among all underground factions is very much an impractical suggestion. They cannot unite and hence practical stance has to be taken to ensure peace"

His views were strongly supported by Arkakong MLA, Nuklutoshi of the NPP, according to insiders.

NPF legislative wing leader Azo maintained - "We need to know the true story of the Naga insurgency or the freedom movement and why we need the Solution.

"Everybody seemed to be confused on what we really want.Everyone is talking about 'rest of the Nagas' outside Nagaland state. If we take all Naga ethnic groups including Myanmar, we will have 80 of them. It's not practical to bring everyone under one roof."

"We have three key Naga tribes in Assam and 21-24 Naga tribes and ethnic groups in Manipur....and so on. So to talk about a solution for all 80 Naga tribes it will never happen," said former Minister Azo.

Sources say his stance was "well appreciated" by participants of all age groups and ethnic backgrounds.

"My party NPF's stand is honorable, acceptable and inclusive Solution.... That is not possible. Therefore what we need to work out is a road-map or an action plan and what steps we need to take after today's meeting".

In the ultimate analysis it appears the machinations of those who tried to push a set of Resolution were snubbed by these voices of dissent.

As of now hence - pessimism could be kept at bay and saboteurs seemed to have cut a sorry figure.

Here lies the ray of hope.

Bravo, lawmakers Nuklutoshi and Azo Nienu. and not forgetting the simpleton looking Gaon Bura (Village elder) named - Shikuto Zalipu.
