Those who are busy finding fault with Modi regime 'forget' India was one 'fragile five' in 2013 :::: “Real winner of polls 2024 is India’s people and democracy... But is that only half truth ?"

Ten years of PM Modi-led regime outlasted 6 Prime Ministers of Pakistan, 5 PMs of the UK, 4 Presidents of Sri Lanka, 3 Presidents of US -- this fact has been aptly highlighted by Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MP, Milind Deora.

Milind - son of Late Congress leader Murli Deora - was a Minister in the Manmohan Singh government.

Global investment bank and financial company Morgan Stanley has stated that the PM Gati Shakti scheme has succeeded in giving a new fillip to India's infrastructure development and multi-modal connectivity across highways, railways and ports that has spurred economic growth.

India has scaled up its infrastructure strongly over the last decade, with higher investment that is also better targeted and potentially more productive.

"We expect India's infrastructure investment to steadily increase from 5.3 per cent of GDP in FY24 to 6.5 per cent of GDP by FY29.

Indeed, this implies that infrastructure investments are expected to register a strong 15.3 per cent CAGR, resulting in cumulative spending of USD 1.45 trillion over the next five years. In our view this will help to lift the investment rate, leading to a sustained period of high productive growth."

According to the World Economic Situation and Prospects report, India’s economy is forecast to expand by 6.9 per cent in 2024.

Consumer price inflation in India is projected to decelerate from 5.6 in 2023 to 4.5 per cent in 2024.

The United Nations has also revised India’s growth projections for 2024 to 7 per cent this year. India’s expected resilient growth rate has to be seen against the backdrop of the current global economic scene, which continues to be bleak because of several factors, including Israel’s onslaught on Hamas and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The world economy is now forecast to grow by 2.7 per cent in 2024.

Today, India is the fastest-growing economy among the world’s major economies. It is at number 5th and soon it could be No. 3. When the going is good, the Modi detractors do not appreciate the contributions of his era. In 2013,  Morgan Stanley had classified India among the “Fragile Five” economies in the world.

This is when Modi took over in 2014 and set things right !!

The Modi regime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Finance Minister Arun Jaitley deserve some credit.

Post-poll results people are analyzing the election results and the message of the Mandate 2024 that “the real winner of elections is India’s people and democracy”.
But is that only half truth ? Or being economical with truth ?

One commentator has already put forward an argumet that those who say the real winner is the faceless voters; they should have also added that the 'losers' are the ones who repeatedly claimed that democracy was on its last legs in India.

The poll 2024 has certainly raised the prestige of India's Election Commission and it has been proved that howsoever powerful Modi is the EVMS cannot be manipulated nor the poll panel is under anyone's personal jagir -- as the Congress and other opposition parties were planning.

Some more statistics --- Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Rs 52.43 crore beneficiaries have banked. Rs 228,747.22 crore balance in beneficiary accounts, so far.

Modi’s welfare plans made available 10.32 crore free gas connections and 4.2 crore pucca houses to the underprivileged and facilitated compensation for 6.27 crore hospital admissions.

Around 25 crore people moved out of multidimensional poverty in the last nine years, according to a report by NITI Aayog.

"The beauty of democracy lies in Janbhagidari or public participation. It is your support that gives me the immense strength to take bold decisions for the nation's welfare, draw up aspirational plans and implement them smoothly.

I need and indeed, look forward to your ideas, suggestions and support as we work to fulfil the resolve of building a Viksit Bharat. I am confident that we will continue to take our nation to great heights together," PM Narendra Modi wrote in an open letter to country women and men during election season.

President Droupadi Murmu detailed the steps taken for the welfare of the four pillars of Viksit Bharat — the poor, youth, women and farmers. She said “topmost priority is being accorded to these four pillars”. The government placed a great emphasis on every aspect of the rural economy, Murmu said.

"The pace of reforms will be further accelerated in tune with the aspirations of people of India for rapid development," she said.
