There are certain obvious messages. No Muslim in his 72-member strong ministry. Anyone surprised?
In caste break-up, more than 60 per cent belong to the underprivileged classes— 10 from the Scheduled Castes, five (5) from the Scheduled Tribes and five (5) from among the religious minorities... yes ... No Muslim.
There are as many as 27 from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs). And he is an OBC -- needless to add.
a young Modi fan : Guess which Left-influenced state ? |
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which won 16 seats, and the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U), which got 12— were given two berths each.
Out of 28 states, 24 of them are represented in the ministry.
Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu of TDP is the new Civil Aviation Minister. A major striking part is he is only 36.
June 10, 2024 -- another interesting and rather exciting thing happened.
Expressing displeasure at the alleged 'divisive' discourse among political parties during the election, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said, “The manner in which events have unfolded, with each side engaging in below-the-belt attacks, ignoring the divisive impact of campaign strategies and increasing social and mental fault lines, is concerning.”
He advised the new government to work on building a national consensus and not treat the Opposition as enemies of the state. Bhagwat indicated that he was unhappy with the Modi government’s handling of the continuing crisis in Manipur. This was also okay.
But it was Bhagwat’s remark that a “true sevak” is one who does his task without taking pride in the accomplishment and is free of arrogance was more than a googly.
Every political student got the message. So are things really wrong between the RSS and the BJP ? And even if so -- how deep or how serious ???
The next day, Modi via his X handle, told all his supporters to remove the suffix “Modi ka parivar” from their handles.
In 2019, 'Chowkidar' had a magical spell. 'Modi Ka Parivar' perhaps sounded little personal... and hence 'arrogance' and self-propaganda theories stand.
Do they ??
Subsequently, some insiders suggested a review meeting of the BJP-RSS brass to ensure a greater coordination ad unity of purpose !!
In 2019, Ram Madhav was shunted back? Will he come back? Why J P Nadda had to say that his party his self sufficient to run the show and win polls ?
Did such remarks cost BJP over 40-50 seats from UP, West Bengal and Maharashtra ?
Now in terms of governance -- people expect miracles from Namo !!
Joblessness is an issue. The state of Economy bothers the government. Many say, these factors worked against BJP besides Congress and other opposition parties propaganda of change in Constitution.

An article in 'Dawn', Pakistani newspaper says:
"The BJP’s opponents in south India criticise it for being a Hindi-belt party only. The election results have defied this label somewhat, as the BJP has expanded the spread of its constituencies in the south, if not the total number of seats, from 2019.
However, Indian national politics is generally conducted in Hindi/ Sanskrit idiom, ie, ‘Bharat jodo’ and ‘Nyay yatras’ of Rahul Gandhi and ‘Hindu rashtra’ to ‘Ram raj’ of the Sangh Parivar."
Modi's challenges are multiple and complex... and in some areas, he may not implement what he intended during the last 10 years.
And that would be a harmful impact of the Mandate 2024 -- country will probably have to wait for a longer period for some much needed reform including labour and agro-economy.
"Modi 2.0 did a successful job of navigating the economic effects of the pandemic, resisting the temptation to spend excessively on doles, confining itself instead to targeted spending.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who held a steady guiding hand all through, may need a new tack this time. She has to rev up slothful sectors while easing mass distress.
Expect higher social spends and capex outlays in her upcoming budget in July. It will be challenging, considering the global slowdown that is only just easing, and there is no quickfix for rising unemployment. She also has to steer inflation to tolerable levels amid fears of NPAs returning to the banking system." -- 'India Today'
