Parivar se panga !! RSS leader's dig at BJP ... Those who became arrogant stopped at 241 by Lord Ram

RSS leader Indresh Kumar seemingly criticised the ruling BJP for its less than stellar performance in the Lok Sabha elections, attributing the outcome to "arrogance."

Speaking at an event at Kanota near Jaipur on Thursday, June 13, Indresh Kumar said, "Those who did bhakti of Lord Ram gradually became arrogant. That party was declared the biggest party but were stopped at 241 by Lord Ram due to arrogance."

Kumar also targeted the opposition INDIA bloc, labelling them as "anti-Ram."

Without mentioning the opposition alliance by name, he said, "And those who had no faith in Ram, they together were stopped at 234. God's justice is true and enjoyable." The INDIA bloc secured 234 seats in the Lok Sabha election.

Indresh Kumar's  comments come days after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat preached the importance of humility in public service.

Bhagwat had said, "A true sevak maintains dignity. He follows the decorum while working. He does not have the arrogance to say 'I did this work'. Only that person can be called a true sevak."

Bhagwat also stressed the need for modesty and goodwill towards everyone, citing the principles of non-violence and truth. Apparently, the RSS is looking for a bigger slice of the coke in government functioning vis-a-vis key decisions and also ensuring that key postings/appointments like gubernatorial posts such as Governors.  Key RSS members and associates have been already appointed central ministers, chief ministers and even Governors during the last decade since 2014 after Narendra Modi government came to power.

This is Modi's third stint as the Prime Minister consecutively and is a record. Modi is the second Indian leader after Jawaharlal Nehru who was sworn in as the Prime Minister for third-time in a row.

However, the 'reduced' mandate has given advantage to Modi-bashing club including those in the opposition parties and also in the RSS to attack the Prime Minister.

In 2009-10 too, a 'bigger'role for the RSS was being debated after BJP under L K Advani was handed over a shocking defeat in 2009.   Former Union Minister Arun Shourie had even suggested that the RSS leadership should pull up the quarrelsome BJP leaders with 'chabuk (hunter)'.

After 2009 electoral debacle, the RSS helped and guided the BJP to chart a final roadmap for replacing or naming a new president after the then president Rajnath Singh's tenure had ended. The RSS had then blessed a Brahmin and Nagpur-based Nitin Gadkari to become party president but his stint was not so colourful and adorable.

Gadkari harboured a personal national ambition, tried to lose weight to make himself photogenic but was unable to turn himself into a leader of national stature. In January 2013, over Purti corruption controversy, Gadkari did not seek re-election and Rajnath Singh became president again.

In June 2013, Rajnath first named Narendra Modi as chairman of BJP's campaign committee for 2014 battle and on Sept 13, 2013, Modi was named BJP's PM-candidate.

The rest is history.
