Pre-election results Quotes: "Shashi Tharoor should start an English training school, Rahul Gandhi should start a gym"

"June 4 will mark the rout of Congress nation-wide by about 4 PM. After the debacle, the party will start looking for an escape route by pinning the blame on EVMs for its ignominious show in the 2024 elections.

Congress leaders including Digvijaya Singh have already started setting the narrative by making such claims. Rahul will also join this blamegame after election results". - Gaurav Vallabh, BJP (He quit Congress to join the Lotus party during the peak of election season)

"Rahul Gandhi should start a gym. Shashi Tharoor should start an English training institute. The Congress party has many people who are very good with language and speak very eloquently and I think these elections will point them towards a new occupation.” - BJP candidate against Tharoor and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar

“Our Congress president, after meeting all the INDIA bloc members, has said that he is convinced that we are getting about 295 for the alliance. I stick to that number". - Shashi Tharoor

"Foreign and domestic critics of Modi obsessively keep harping about alleged democratic decline and downgrading of religious minorities to second-class citizens in the Modi era. But the Indian electorate has yet to show sympathy or patience for such lines of argument. As far as they can see, India is in the best possible hands." - Newsweek magazine, New York

The Guardian, London says:

"Exit polls, which are conducted by polling agencies, have a patchy record in India. They have often got the outcome wrong, with analysts saying it is a challenge to get results right in the large and diverse country.

Pre-poll surveys said the BJP would easily keep its majority in the election. But the party ran into a spirited campaign by the India Alliance, sowing doubt about how close the race might be."

"We had seen how the exit polls were conducted in 2016, 2019 and 2021. None of the predictions had turned out to be true. These exit polls were manufactured at home by some people two months back for the media consumption. They have no value,"-- Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool boss

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said,

"It has been the deep founded resolve of the Commission to strive for continuous improvement in the electoral processes setting new standards globally. The EC is dedicated to incorporating and deeply integrating the principles and practices of inclusivity and accessibility throughout the entire election process, setting an example before the society for replication everywhere".
