Modi receives tele call from Bangladesh Chief Adviser Md Yunus ::::: Bangladesh envoys deployed in US, UAE, Germany recalled


Prime Minister receives telephone call from the Chief Adviser, Interim Government of Bangladesh


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a telephonic conversation with Mohammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.


PM Modi emphasised the need for the Interim Govt to ensure safety and protection to Hindus and all other minority communities.

Envoys deployed in UAE, Germany, Maldives also recalled

Dhaka also recalls secretaries, counsellors from different countries


In a significant administrative reshuffle by the interim government in Bangladesh, the country has recalled seven of its envoys deployed in different countries, local media reports said.

The seven envoys appointed on a contractual basis to the US, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Germany, UAE and Maldives by the previous Awami League government of Sheikh Hasina, have been instructed to return to the country immediately.





Ambassador Mohammad Imran deployed in Washington, Ambassador Kamrul Hasan deployed in Moscow, Ambassador Javed Patwary in Riyadh, Ambassador Shahabuddin Ahmed in Tokyo, Ambassador Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan in Berlin, Ambassador Abu Zafar deployed in Abu Dhabi, and High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad in Male have been recalled by Bangladesh's interim government.


Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan was deployed at the Bangladesh Embassy in Moscow on January 5, 2020 while Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary has been serving as the ambassador of Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia since August, 2020.


Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan joined the Embassy of Bangladesh in Germany on October 2, 2020, as Ambassador with concurrent accreditation to the Czech Republic, Kosovo and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.


Separate notices served to the envoys by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed them to give up their current responsibilities and return to the headquarters in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka immediately.


Additionally, the interim government has also recalled First Secretary Wahiduzzaman Noor and Counsellor Arifa Rahman Ruma who were deployed in Washington. Also, Counsellor Aparna Rani Pal and Counsellor Mobashwira Farzana Mithila posted in Ottawa, were also recalled, as was Third Secretary Asib Uddin Ahmed, deployed in New York.


Major administrative reshuffles have been seen in Bangladesh following the formation of the interim government on August 8.
