Can Plebiscite of 1951 ignored and forgotten ?? -- wonders senior Naga militant leader N Kitovi Zhimomi.
He had played a key role in ensuring the formation of umbrella organisation NNPG and which later inked preliminary Agreed Position with the Govt of India.
"We cannot ignore and forget our history and the legacy of the founding fathers of the Naga society".
"In 2018 election to state assembly was held under the slogan Election for Solution... Where did such lofty promise go?", - he asked in his Independence Day speech.
"We are confident Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi ji will be a man of his words and soon will call upon all the negotiating parties for the final inking (of a lasting peace pact)," said Naga rebel leader N Kitovi Zhimomi.
In his Independent Day speech, Kitovi said: "The phrase Prevention is Better than Cure is significant in our present times. Alarming issues occurring in South East Asia like our neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Burma (Myanmar) to be specific. These incidents can happen overnight even in our Naga country".
Kitovi was convener for the umbrella organisation NNPG for long and had played a key role in the inking of the Agreed Position and Status Paper during the stint of peace interlocutor R N Ravi in 2017.
"It is high time for all the Nagas to come and voice unitedly to Govt of India to implement what has been agreed with the negotiating parties without further delay".
"GPRN/NSCN aims to work for the betterment of the younger generation and also to bring a solution to have a smooth transaction to pass through and make Nagaland the international or national tourist destination and not an arm conflict zone".
