"No Confidence motion against us and in 2019 our seats increased from 282 to 303.... let them bring this time, we will cross 350 mark" -- Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi
Like what they did in 2018 Monsoon session of Parliament, Opposition parties have decided to move a No Confidence motion against the Modi Govt in LokSabha during the ongoing Monsoon Session 2023.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended BJP Parliamentary party meet on Tuesday morning and said, that he has never seen such a “directionless opposition”. 'Indian Mujahideen, East India Company': PM's jibe at 'INDIA Opposition' alliance.
"Just bringing in 'India' doesn't mean anything… East India company also had 'India' in its name. 'India' is in the name of Indian Mujahideen too,” says PM
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi speaks on the BJP Parliamentary party meeting, says, "PM said that behaviour of the opposition shows that they permanently want to remain in the opposition for coming years...It is a matter of pride for us that the world is trusting us. He also said that we will be the third largest economy during our third term."

2018: high drama scene |
( No Confidence motion idea is self defeating for #Opposition....emphasis on #Manipur will go and #BJP and @narendramodi will get adequate time to highlight #Rajasthan and #WestBengal and also PM Modi's #ForeignPolicy achievements.....)
Interestingly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will miss the session as his disqualification stands. The matter is already pending in the Supreme Court. In 2018, the major issue was Rafale aircraft purchase from France. There was the 'big hug' in Lok Sabha as an over enthusiastic the then Amethi MP Rahul had reshed to the a 'reluctant' looking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Of course this year, the opposition parties will focus on Manipur situation. But the No trust motion debates are not on one or issues. It will end up general discussions and the BJP and the ruling NDA alliance will be easily able to counter the detractors' narrative by referring to Rajasthan and West Bengal.
This will be also opportunities for both the opposition alliance and BJP-led combine to lay down their respective political mission and goal.
The Opposition will require the support of at least 50 lawmakers of the Lower House for giving the notice of no confidence to the Speaker. Otherwise, the notice will be rejected as per the Lok Sabha rules.
The Modi government faces no threat from any such motion as it has a comfortable majority in the Lower House of Parliament.
“The opposition alliance decided this to have PM to speak in Lok Sabha on Manipur,” said a Congress leader.
