Namo's simple PEACE DEAL .... "I can tell Putin, it's NOT THE TIME OF WAR.... I will tell Zelenskyy -- "No resolution possible in a battlefield" ::

Stressing that he had a "close relationship" with both the warring sides, Russia and Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a podcaster :

"I can sit with (Russian) President (Vladimir) Putin and say it's not the time for war. I can tell (Ukraine) President (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy in a friendly way that brother, regardless of how many people stand with you in the world, there will never be a resolution on the battlefield."

In his interview with noted American podcaster Lex Fridman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that the three-year-old war in Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia, would only stop if both countries came to the negotiating table.

India has made it clear several times that only talks would result in the ending of the Ukraine conflict and said that it was not the time for war.

PM Modi, during the podcast interview, said that Ukraine may hold countless discussions with its allies, but it will not bear any fruit. "Discussions must include both parties instead," he added.

His response came as Zelenskyy has been drumming up support from European allies following his disastrous meeting with US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office last month.

It may be mentioned that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar have spoken multiple times in the last few months.

Their most recent in-person meeting occurred on February 15, 2025, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

The war in Ukraine has entered the third  year and at a time when it has taken a new direction in the aftermath of the White House spat between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump along with Vice President JD Vance.

Ukraine's foreign minister is likely to meet Dr Jaishankar during the former's visit to Delhi for the Raisina Dialogue.

Also crucial to take cognizance of the fact that Tulsi Gabbard, US Director of National Intelligence, has arrived in India for a high-level intelligence conference.

The meet will be chaired NSA Ajit Doval. The meeting will focus on strengthening intelligence sharing and tackling international crimes, particularly terrorism. Intelligence chiefs from Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and other nations will attend.

The meet will also cover topics including cyber security and global conflicts.
