Bharat, that is, India is not a Dharmashala .... firm message from Amit Shah to 'Bangladeshi Muslims', Rohingyas and also for Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram

Immigration Bill passed in Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah says India is not a 'dharamshala;

Ref .... Free Movement Regime and also Mamata's Muslim appeasement ....

"Those who pose a threat to national security will not be allowed to enter the nation.

The nation is not a 'dharamshala'. If someone comes to the nation to contribute to the development of the nation, they are always welcome," the Minister said.

There were some people who wanted to enter India and create unrest, stressing that the country was not a 'dharamshala' and such individuals would be strongly dealt with.

However, he said the government was ready to welcome those who wished to come to India as a tourist or for education, healthcare and business, but stressed that those who posed a threat would be dealt with seriously.

He made the remarks while participating in a debate in the Lok Sabha on the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, which was passed in the Lower House.

The Home Minister said the Modi government would stop only those people who have malafide intentions for visiting India, adding that the country was not a 'dharamshala' (shelter home).

"Those who pose a threat to national security will not be allowed to enter the nation. The nation is not a 'dharamshala'. If someone comes to the nation to contribute to the development of the nation, they are always welcome," he said.

The Home Minister said the proposed legislation would strengthen the country's security, boost the economy and business, besides encouraging the health and education sectors.

He also said the immigration bill would ensure the country gets up-to-date information about every foreigner visiting India.

Touching upon the issue of illegal infiltration into India by Rohingyas from Myanmar and Bangladeshis, Amit Shah underlined that such people taking refuge in India for personal gain had increased, making the country unsafe.

He warned of strict action against infiltrators if they created unrest in India.

The Union Home Minister said the bill would strengthen the country's security and help India become the most developed nation in the world by 2047. "I want to assure the country that we will have up-to-date information about every foreigner coming to our country," he said.

"I welcome everyone who wants to visit India as a tourist, for education, for healthcare, for R&D, for business and so on. But those who comes as a threat to the country, we will keep a close look at them and take strong action against them," he added.

AMIT SHAH ATTACKS TRINAMOOL OVER INFILTRATION

Accusing the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal of not taking stern action against illegal infiltration, Shah said the 450 km of fencing work on the India-Bangladesh border was pending as the West Bengal government did not give land for it.

"Whenever the process of fencing is done, the ruling party workers indulge in hooliganism and religious sloganeering.

The fencing work of 450 km of border has not been completed because the West Bengal government is showing mercy to the infiltrators," he said.

"Out of around 2,200 km of land border area, only 450 km of area is left for fencing. But, the West Bengal government is not providing the land for the fencing work," he said.

Toward the end of a three-hour-long discussion on the bill, Shah said India welcomes those who come here to help in development, but those who come to create trouble, whether Rohingya or Bangladeshis, will face strong action.

"The bill will also help in identifying those who come here with bad intentions," he said before the Lok Sabha cleared the bill.

The bill, once it becomes an Act, will help in tackling illegal immigration into India and facilitate tracking of movement of foreigners who overstay, he Shah said.

Mr Shah cited Indians who went abroad and left a huge positive impact in the countries they settled in, and called for a legal framework for India as well to ensure those who come to India for good work and contributing to the nation's development feel welcomed.
