"It was good fortune that I was groomed in RSS... I got the Life of Purpose from it," Modi in interview with podcaster Lex Fridman
"Bharat (India) is a sankritik pehchan (a cultural identity in itself)," PM Narendra Modi said.
"Look at India's speciality... we have more than 100 languages ... and thousands of ethnic and linguistic lingua franca," the Prime Minister said.
"In India if you travel you will find after every 20 miles, language, customs and cuisine have changed".
During his interaction, Modi recalled suggesting to US President Donald Trump that they take a lap around the stadium to greet attendees at the "Howdy Modi" event in Houston.
He recounted how, after delivering his speech, he approached Trump to suggest they walk around the stadium to greet attendees.
"I went to him to thank him, and casually said that if you don't mind why don't we take a lap around the stadium," PM Modi said. "There are so many people here, let's walk, wave, and greet them," he added.
ON RSS ::
"From RSS and Sangh I learned one key thing.... even if I study ... I realised I must learn it seriously so that tomorrow I become an useful citizen to my country".
"I do not know whether there is any other such a vast volunteer organisation (like RSS)," PM remarked.
"Sangh ko samajh na itna saral nahi hae (To understand Sangh, is not so easy. One should try to understand the organisation through its works)".
The Sangh gives you a proper direction to understand the Purpose of Life.
"Secondly, it teaches that the Country (nation) is everything for a man's life. Then it teaches serving human being is serving the God. This is being said in our from the days of Vedas....," he said.
The RSS Mazdoor Sangh is the largest workers' union across the globe.
To a question, he said, "Leftists have given adequate importance to labourers' unity...they raise the slogan Workers of the World Unite ..... RSS Mazdoor Sangh says workers 'unite the world'.... This is such a big ideological statement".
PM Modi drew a parallel between himself and Donald Trump while speaking about the last year's assassination attempt on the US President.
"When Trump was shot during a recent campaign before the US elections, I saw the same resilient and determined President Trump, the one who walked hand in hand with me in that stadium," he said.
"Even after being shot, he remained unwaveringly dedicated to America. His life is for his nation. His reflection showed his America first spirit, just as I believe in India first. I stand for India First, and that's why we connect so well. These are the things that truly resonate," he added.
