Where's the iron resolve and why do challenges galore ?
R N Ravi - as negotiator and the Governor of Nagaland - was lucky or smart enough to get away from Naga matters.
The havoc created by the NSCN-IM leadership never just confined to one group or one set of people only. It has engulfed all Nagas and it hit political journey of protagonists such as R N Ravi and A K Mishra.
Will they .... Can they ?
The Big ... the Bold and being what you are and what you are not !! Unmaking of Naga talks ?
What was the hurry about oneupmanship ? Did R N Ravi play up his own cards upfront .. so that he could move out of Nagaland ?
To live up to the desired expectation is a big challenge. In 2025 it could be correct at this juncture to maintain that Ravi could perhaps realise he had reached saturation point. The Naga talks had reached saturation point.
It could be a guess. But Ravi would be smart enough to 'realise' that the talks reached the dead end when the Flag and the separate Constitution demands were raised.
As a former cop and someone given the designation of deputy NSA; he knew petty well that such demands could never to be expectable and these two points will easily ensure another 50 years may pass and Muivah and his team may pass their lives and could simply say ... the Govt of India has betrayed the talks process.
Real challenge came came down for Amit Shah and his handpicked emissary A K Mishra. They entered the zone of thankless job.
Maybe ... The same thankless zone has just started for V S Atem and others.
There is a confusion and that's how desperate to sound more radical. Urban Naxal influence is not ruled out. If talks collapse PM Modi may again get a bad press.
Friendly interviews have started !!
Muivah's Somdal speech and later his oneliners have perhaps also boomeranged on other stakeholders who were being realistic and were ready to embrace Peace and Solution.
Now all that has gone too far. Solution is almost unreachable now.
The NNPG will have to so something more. More result oriented. Their internal ego hassles should end.
Indian urban Naxals are smelling blood. Questions would be asked ... Who is S C Jamir ? Did he ever stay in jungle ?
Jungle ... in humble hotels of Bangkok and Amsterdam and Zurich - where even H D Deve Gowda visited. The places where interlocutor K Padmanabhiah did all the travel and hospitality at the cost of sarkari funding.
For his part, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his unique style of functioning. He is not only a tough task master. He is also result oriented.
But politics is politics.... And it is the art of compromise. The 'time' or the long rope the Govt of India gave to people like Muivah and even chief minister Neiphiu Rio was part of that big time compromise package.
A sort of trap. A double-edged sword.
We will give you time ... Stretch it if you want but in the process the sanctity of the talks would be almost derailed.
And that way there will be new tools for Govt to handle ... We will take a tough call because Nagas are not listening and they are not ready for talks and solution.
If what has been stated is incorrect... Bigger trouble days are ahead.
What could be the double-edged strategies now ? Will some Babus and analysts now refer to 'Kashmir files'. We are not talking about that blockbuster Bollywood movie that left urban Naxals and Sickular forces unmasked and red-faced. It is the real files.
In 2019; the centre did something and the date was Aug 5th.
Yes, the clock has come back to where it all started. Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two. Ladakh became UT without legislature and Omar Abdullah status is now 'chief minister of UT'. From financial power to policing to bravado -- everything has gone or diluted the most.
The separate Flag and Constitution are also gone. Most believe even if Congress comes back to power it will not have the guts to give Kashmiris the flag and the constitution back.
If some well wishers of my former well wisher-friend CM Neiphiu Rio think Omar Abdullah will be Prime Minister one day with 300 seats for National Conference then polity is beyond our comprehension.
Urban Naxals will be in more and more action. They will circulate papers -- against 'Delhi's version of nationalism'.
And glorify ....
"... political aspirations of people who refused to surrender" ... and so on.
Who says Insurgency is bad ... as long as it is an industry ! Tukde Tukde ... Gen Zee ... etc etc
Farmers' stir and anti-CAA also aimed at regime change.
Do not forget Manipur. Religion was thy hands Sickular !!
Nagaland or the Naga life even in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur have landed in a terrible quagmire and at the same time the leadership of underground and overground are equally confused.
Even a section of those among Babus and Netas who decide provinces' and people's fate in Delhi are now at their wits end. Rio's 'regionalism' hype and the first major achievement came on Oct 22 - the Somdal speech.
What kind of a future can we expect for the younger generation ?
There is a NPF legislator (now Team Rio's confidant face); he thinks he still sits in an old building opposite the football ground.
He took oath of office as an MLA under the constitution of India. Honourable Phek legislator Azo Nienu may do well to remind his compatriots.
The havoc of Thuingaleng Muivah was never just confined to his group or his tribe only.
It has engulfed all the Nagas, it would hit the pride of Naga regionalism, it may finish Rio's career drawing a totally surprising but a little disgracing end.
It has engulfed his rivals and detractors such as R N Ravi and A K Mishra and a few people above them.
Rumours are created by Selfish, spread by Fools and Haters, and accepted by Idiots. They say it's a German saying. It applies to north east of India pretty well.
