A Bold opinion maker: Khekiye, Retd IAS officer 

Expressing anguish on the State government's approach, he asserted : "Naga GBs (village chiefs) are not Govt servants". 

"They are not salaried people....".  

"Rather they bear the burden of Naga people starting from Naga movement ....  

On emergence of multiple factions, Khekiye said -- "We have too many factions that do not see eye to eye ... and we have been fighting for Sovereignty. We have almost 30 factions now .... Are the Nagas fighting for 30 different kinds of Sovereignty. 

"... We have been looking for only one and even that has not been achieved.... But we know for the fact that the Naga factions have done their very best".  

He further said : "Naga Movement is not NSCN-IM movement .. nor NNPG movement. They are negotiating on our behalf". 

"We also want the Govt of India to know... that people have reached a point ... of Intolerance .... 

"Reality has been reached ... two agreements have been signed. We want the Govt of India and also the factions to note that the common man has reached a point in time where the burden of taxation ... the burdens of uncertainty and the burden of all the rottenness ..... 

"It has become a very very difficult circumstance for our people to actually be able to live Peacefully and grow in harmony ... 

"And that we are tired of all the burdens. This is what we want even our factions to know and also the Govt of India to know".  

 

He said  the Framework Agreement inked in 2015 with the NSCN-IM and the Agreed Position signed with the NNPG in 2017 are "formal agreements" endorsed by New Delhi. 

"And when they (GoI) say the talk is concluded .... why is the Govt of India refusing to give the final Solution to the Naga people", Khekiye said. 

He added: We want them (GoI) to put the two agreements together. "Let me also state it here ... the Naga movement began from Nagaland. The epic centre is Nagaland ... but that does not say the Nagas of Nagaland are not keeping our concern for our brothers living outside the borders of Nagaland. 

"And the Govt of India also understood the fact that Nagas are not only living in the boundaries of state of Nagaland and therefore their cases wherever they are ... in Manipur or in Arunachal Pradesh or in Assam; the Govt of India has on matter of principle that Nagas of Manipur will get their autonomous territorial council which will be founded by the Govt of India".

Khekiye also said for the Nov 18 rally; all the factions will be invited. 

"We would invite all the factions to attend this Common Platform with a simple objective ... we want to know whether they are in favour of Solution or not".
