Jamaat demands Hasina’s repatriation from India after verdict for Death sentence :::: "India has given shelter to a fugitive criminal" says BNP

Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar said :

"If one claims to behave as a good neighbour, if one aspires to maintain friendly relations, this is their foremost responsibility [to ensure Hasina's return]."

Bangladesh's foreign ministry to India -- seeking the handing over of former Prime Minister Hasina -- calling her “fugitive accused” and cited the tribunal's death sentence to the Awami League leader.

Reacting to the verdict, Porwar said, "We believe there is no scope for anyone to question this trial. It was transparent, impartial and met international standards."

The Jamaat leader added, "Those who have provided shelter to a fugitive death-row convict, in our view, have taken a stand in favour of the heinous criminal. We demand that she be returned to Bangladesh."

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that India is creating opportunities for sabotage in Bangladesh by giving shelter to fugitive ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

"India has given shelter to a fugitive criminal. But the country is giving her the chance to do sabotage against Bangladesh, and this is not a lawful behaviour from India. This is very unfortunate," Rizvi said.

He made the remarks at a press conference in Nayapaltan this morning while responding to a question from a journalist.

Rehman Khalilur, Bangladeshi Human Rights Activist and member of Awami League, says,

"This is very unfortunate. This is a black day in the history of Bangladesh. 18 crore people of Bangladesh are crying... This is a conspiracy by Muhammad Yunus and others. All Bengalis will raise their voice against this..."
