Certain positive things to work for Modi Govt after Trump takes charge in US :::: It could mean some troubles for Pakistan as well

India will have a few reasons to be jubilant about Donald Trump's return to office in Washington. To start with Trump earlier did not enjoy a good rapport with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.

Thus, it may be reasonable enough to presume that New Delhi would not have to worry about any reaction over New Delhi's latest diplomatic tussle with the incumbent Canadian Govt.

Moreover, Trump's 'Hindu friendly' remarks and gestures have left many people impressed both in the US and in India.

There are also reasons to believe that the incoming US administration will not be so soft towards Pakistan as the Democrat regime has been. Earlier, Trump had cancelled most aid to Pakistan.

In 2018, the US military under Trump regime had cancelled $300m (£230m) in aid to Pakistan over what it called Islamabad's failure to take action against militant groups. Those words brought music to the ear of the BJP leaders no doubt.

Now the crisis is deeper in Pakistan and the new regime in Islamabad could end up losing US support for IMF and World Bank assistance.

"Trump has long championed the importance of addressing security threats emanating from Pakistan, a stance that aligns closely with India’s own challenges. His administration’s commitment to enhancing intelligence sharing and joint operations signifies a serious approach to addressing terrorism. This proactive alignment may fortify both nations’ defences, providing a united front against shared adversaries. As the world grapples with the complexities of security threats, this partnership could emerge as a crucial alliance in maintaining stability in the region," says an article in 'First Post'.

The Trump administration could also mark some troubles for the caretaker regime in Bangladesh as the adhoc power centre in Dhaka under Advisor Mohammad Yunus was well known as a friend of Democrats.

Can all these help Sheikh Hasina get back power and prestige in Dhaka - however- remains to be seen.

American businesses are eager to tap into India’s burgeoning market, which promises growth opportunities across various sectors, from technology to agriculture. Trump’s focus on reducing regulatory hurdles could lead to a surge in bilateral trade, fostering economic integration that benefits both countries. This approach stands in contrast to Kamala Harris’s proposed policies, which might have introduced stricter regulations and compliance standards that could complicate trade dynamics.

Culturally, Trump’s presidency is likely to strengthen the ties between the United States and India. His vocal advocacy for religious freedoms resonates within the context of India’s pluralistic and inclusive society.

"By condemning religious persecution and supporting the rights of Hindus globally, Trump aligns himself with India’s efforts to promote global inclusivity. This commitment could foster goodwill between the two nations, enhancing their cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

In contrast, Harris’s approach, while supportive of human rights, may not have addressed the specific challenges faced by different communities in India, particularly Hindus," says Rahul Pawa in 'First Post'.
