Centre at liberty to implement political Solution: Therie
"State Govt now .... a facilitator of extorrion"
New Delhi
Former Nagaland Pradesh Congress president and ex-Minister Kewekhape Therie said on Saturday that the Govt of India should not "deliberately delay implementation of negotiated agreements" and maintained that Solution actually lies with the political will of the BJP.
In a telephonic interview with 'Nagaland Page', he also said the law and order situation in the state has collapsed as the "state government has practically joined the insurgents".

"They are no more than facilitators of extortion. In other words, they are funding internal disturbances and the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio wants to continue in this position," Therie said.
"Our Chief Minister is not for Solution or for the people .... neither for the benefit of the nation... the BJP leaders should understand this," he said.
Therie, who served as Minister under both S C Jamir and Rio also maintained that, "The Govt of India will do well to take note that all the political parties have assured to pave the way for Solution..... Therefore, the Govt of India is at liberty to implement the agreements that is Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position but provided the BJP leaders have the will".
Answering questions he insisted that there is no reason to hold back the Solution.
"The Govt of India does not to need to wait for anybody. Agreements are gentlemen agreements. None can go back after signing in celebration at the level of Prime Ministers. Details were hinted in the agreements and even loosely listed for public study. Stakeholders have endorsed for implementation.
Therefore now, what is givable within the principles of agreements from GoI is the Solution," he underlined.
He said - "Rio or any other state politician at the most can participate as stakeholders. Rio should be also reasonable to the people. People have waited 21 years for his assurances of early solution.
He should realise 21 years at the helm and inability to achieve anything tangible on ground don’t need any explanation".
He sought to point out that after 21 years vowing to fight integration and seeking for a fresh talk with the appointment of new interlocutor is "an act of villain or negativity against stakeholders, Naga national workers who have signed agreements and also against the Govt of India".
