At least 11 Kuki militants were gunned down in Manipur's Jiribam on Monday after they attacked a CRPF camp around 3.30 pm, sources said.
Following the attack on the camp, the CRPF retaliated and eliminated 10 Kuki militants and also recovered several weapons from their possession.
A CRPF jawan was critically injured in the incident and is currently receiving treatment. Earlier in the day, the Kuki militants had attacked the Borobekra Police Station, prompting retaliatory fire by the police.
In light of the "tragic events" that unfolded on Nov 10 in Jiribam in Maniour where 11 Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers died in clash with central forces, the Kuki-Zo Council has announced a Total Shutdown tomorrow (Nov 12, 2024), starting from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM in honor of the victims.
The protest is also to express collective grief, Khaikhohaugh Gangte, Secretary Information, Kuki-Zo Council said in a statement.
"The loss of our precious Kuki-Zo lives is not only a devastating blow to the families, but to the entire Kuki-Zo Community who stand united in our pursuit of peace, justice, and security.
We condemn in the strongest terms the violence that took place today and call for immediate and thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice," the statement said.
"The Kuki-Zo Council extends our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and stand with them in their time of mourning. Let us come together as a community, not in anger, but in solidarity, as we seek justice for those who have been lost," it said.
And, during this total shutdown only Medical personnel or Ambulance, Media, Electric and Water Suply will be exempted only.

JOINT OPERATIONS BY INDIAN ARMY, ASSAM RIFLES AND SECURITY FORCES RESULTS IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN MANIPUR
In a series of successful joint operations, Army, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Police and other security forces, recovered 29 weapons, Improvised Explosive Device (IED), ammunition and warlike stores from both hill and valley regions in the districts of Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi. Bishmupur. Tengnoupal and Kakching of Manipur.
Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Samukom Village in Tengnoupal District, troops of Assam Rifles, Manipur Police launched a coordinated search operation on 04 November 2024 and recovered two large Pompi guns, grenades, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), explosive material, ammunition and other war-like stores.
Similarly, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an intelligence-based operation in Bishnupur district in general area Uyok on the same day and recovered one 7.62mm SLR rifle, one .303 rifle, two Single Bore Barrel (SBBL) guns, one 9mm pistol, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores.
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police coordinated for launch of an operation in the Thingom area of Yangoi Lambi, Imphal West District on 08 November 2024 and recovered one 9mm carbine machine gun, one grenade launcher, one 9mm pistol, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores.
In the areas in LKhonomphai village Jungles in Sangaikot in Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an operation on 09 Nov 24 and recovered one .303 Rifle, two 09 mm Pistols, six 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifles, One x .22 Rifle, ammunition and other war-like stores
On the same day, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police launched an operation in general area between S Choungoubung and the Maohing of Kangpokpi distric and recovered one 5.56mm INSAS Rifle, one point 303 rifle, two SBBL guns, two 0.22 pistols, two improvised projectile launchers, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores.
On 10 Nov 24, a joint team of Assam Rifles, Manipur Polic and BSF launched an intelligence-based operation to recover arms and ammunition in general area Utangpokpi in Kakching District and recovered one 0.22 Rifle, ammunition and other war-like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
The successful recovery of these warlike stores highlights the seamless cooperation between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and other law enforcement agencies, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the region, sources said.
