Social activist and secretary of newly floated Concerned Naga Forum of Nagaland (CNFN) Theja Therieh on Tuesday condemned the 'IED bomb blast' at Chümoukedima but insisted yet again that the BJP-NPF regime must deliver or "do more than what they have been doing all along".
"We condemn the explosion.. any sensible organisation and individual will do that ... but there are complex issues," Theja told this blogger in a brief interview.
Answering questions, he said: "I must say here that the State government under BJP and the NPF must honour the commitments and understandings it has reached in good faith.
"The Rio regime ought to demonstrate the political will to bring the Naga issue and other matters as in eastern Nagaland to a just and acceptable conclusion.
My simple point is a non-committal approach at this critical juncture is neither responsible nor in the best interests of the people."

He said the CNFN feels that the bomb blast was a "cowardly act" of violence and is a a "direct threat to the fragile peace, security, and well-being of the people".
"In fact, the CNFN expresses deep concern over any attempt by miscreants or vested interests to create instability in Nagaland or to allow the ongoing conflict in Manipur to spill over into our State. We earnestly appeal to all citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and united," he said.
Moreover, he cautioned that the Naga public must not be misled by "rumours, misinformation, or provocative actions intended to disrupt communal harmony and public order".
To a question, he admitted - "Nagaland is at a defining moment in its history" but hastened to add :
"As we move closer to realizing an honourable and peaceful political future, it is imperative that every stakeholder remains committed to preserving the atmosphere of peace .. and then comes a special significance of stability".
On this backdrop he explained further:
"The hard-earned gains achieved through years of dialogue, understanding, and sacrifice must not be jeopardised by the actions of a handful of vested interests who only want to derail the collective aspirations of the Naga people."
To another question, he said:
"Our Forum has appealed to all concerned to stop senseless violence and we also urged the law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, and take all necessary measures".
The CNFN, he said, also "wants to caution the Nagaland government headed by Neiphiu Rio against any agreement that may prejudice Nagaland's political, constitutional, and economic rights".
He was referring to tripartite pact inked recently between the centre. and the states of Assam and Nagaland.
He said the MoU of June 11, 2026, seeks to jointly resume oil and gas exploration along the disputed borders of Assam and Naaland.
He said the Forum thinks the the tripartite arrangement could directly or indirectly compromise the political, constitutional, and historical rights of the Naga people.
"At this crucial stage of the Naga political process, every decision must strengthen the special constitutional provisions and safeguards protecting Nagaland. Any political dispensation must be reinforced by a robust statutory framework that clearly defines and secures the Naga people's unique identity," he maintained.
Quizzed further on the complex matter, Theja said: "The pact to explore oil and natural resources without resolving the territorial issues is a complete sellout and robbing future generations for the temporary benefit of a few vested interest groups".
The CNFN also firmly asserts that the Government of Nagaland must resolve the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) issue without further delay, he said.
On this also, he maintained that :
"Prolonging the matter will only deepen public frustration, weaken trust, and risk further regional polarisation".
He said all major fora and social bodies including the church must come forward and "pave the way for lasting stability, inclusive development, and a brighter future".
