Police announce BNSS 163 clause imposed in Delhi in areas near Parliament : 

Protesters pelt stones at Delhi Police personnel at Feroz Shah Road.

Tear gas has been used to disperse the protesting crowd.  

"BNSS 163 has been imposed and you all are being warned that no gathering of crowd or demonstration will be allowed in these areas. 

Rajeev Ranjan, Addl CP/PRO Delhi Police says, 

"Delhi police appeals to all protesters to maintain peace, exercise restraint, and cooperate with the police in ensuring peace and public order. All participants are requested to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner, refrain from indulging in any unlawful or violent activities, and comply with the lawful directions issued by police officers or personnel deployed on duty. 

"The public is advised not to believe or circulate rumours, misinformation, or unverified content through any platform. Citizens are requested to rely only on authentic sources of information and extend their cooperation to Delhi Police in maintaining peace, harmony and public order". 

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav says, 

"Our MPs have been kept at the police station while children are being beaten up outside. What kind of government is this? You do not want to listen to the children. 

If the NEET examination took place and irregularities occurred, who is responsible? Whose credibility is at stake?" 

"Who was supposed to make the preparations? You aspire to be a 'Vishwaguru'; you claim the world is in 'Amrit Kaal', yet you cannot remove your own ministers...You haven't provided jobs or employment. 

"If jobs had been provided, would the children have taken to the streets? Right now, the primary question is that the NEET students must get justice, and the protesting students who have come here must be treated well...

"When people sat in protest, the British actually listened to them. That is why Gandhi is revered across the world today. He showed the path of protest. The way they are removing the protesters-let us hope the government doesn't end up with a 'dignified farewell' instead."  

Live telecast suggests some protesting students including girls have fainted on the spot.
