ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
WITH PATRIOTIC OUTREACH ACTIVITIES IN MIZORAM
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26th, Assam Rifles organised a series of patriotic outreach activities at Government School, Chanmari, Lunglei, Mizoram to commemorate India’s historic victory in the Kargil War and honour the valour and supreme sacrifice of the nation’s brave soldiers.
The event featured an impressive Pipe Band display by Assam Rifles, which instilled a sense of pride and patriotism among the students.
This was followed by the screening of a documentary based on the Kargil War, highlighting the courage, determination and unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Vijay.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES ARECA NUTS WORTH APPROXIMATELY ₹4.12 CRORES FROM CHAMPHAI, MIZORAM
Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Custom Preventive Force, Champhai, launched a search operation along the Champhai–Khawzawl Road on 25 July 2026.
The operation led to the recovery of 501 bags of areca nuts weighing 40,080 kg, valued at approximately Rs 4.12 crore.
The seized consignment was handed over to the Custom Preventive Force, Champhai, for further legal proceedings.
The seizure highlights Assam Rifles continued commitment to curbing illegal smuggling and safeguarding the border population.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES HEROIN NO. 4 FROM SIAHA, MIZORAM
Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Excise and Narcotics Department, conducted an operation at Siasi Village, Siaha District, Mizoram on 26 July 2026.
The operation resulted in the recovery of 33 packets of Heroin No. 4 weighing 401 grams, valued at approximately Rs 3.01 crore.
Two Myanmar nationals were apprehended and two mobile phones were also seized.
The apprehended individuals, recovered narcotics and seized mobile phones were handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department, Siaha for further investigation and legal proceedings.
