Delhi: Jat community holds protest march towards Congress Office in support of Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
"I demand strict action against Rahul Gandhi and Kalyan Banerjee. Along with this, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, and Mamata Banerjee must apologise for this disgraceful act," tweeted Naga leader and BJP national vice president M Chuba Ao.
"I strongly condemn the conduct of TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee and all those who were involved in mocking the Hon'ble Vice President. Such disrespect of our Hon'ble Vice President of Bharat is disrespectful to the very foundation of our democratic values", he stated.

NDA members of Parliament and central ministers stood in the Upper House as a mark of their extending solidarity with chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said NDA members would stand in the House for an hour to express support to Mr Dhankhar.
"We strongly condemn this. There are crossing all limits. They are repeatedly insulting people on constitutional posts."
"This is against the Constitution...Neither Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi nor Mallikarjun Kharge condemned it...Mamata Banerjee said that this should be taken casually. Vice President's insult should be taken casually?...", Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.
"...I don't care about how much you insult Jagdeep Dhankhar. But I can't tolerate (insult of) Vice President of India, farmers community, my community... I will not tolerate that I could not protect the dignity of my post, it is my duty to protect the dignity of this House..," Rajya Sabha Chairman on mimicry row.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury says " Mimicry is an art...No one said this mimicry was on Dhankhar ji...Does it suit a person on such a high post to talk about caste?"
Ambala: On mimicry row, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij says, "The way MP Kalyan Banerjee has made fun of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, his Parliament membership should be cancelled and he should be sent to the zoo...".
On Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's reaction on mimicry row, Union Minister & BJP MP Giriraj Singh says,
"The biggest non-serious leader of this century is Rahul Gandhi. He doesn't know what he says. I don't think a lot of comment needs to be made on a non-serious person.
People rejected him in 2019 based on issues that he wants to present. He has crossed limits after losing three states...Rahul Gandhi should have discouraged them from mimicking the Vice President...".
Rahul Gandhi said : "...MPs were sitting there, I shot their video. My video is on my phone. Media is showing it...Nobody has said anything...150 of our MPs have been thrown out (of the House) but there is no discussion on that in the media.
There is no discussion on Adani, no discussion on Rafale, no discussion on unemployment. Our MPs are disheartened and sitting outside. But you are discussing that (mimicry)...".
On filing a police complaint against TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee for mimicry of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on premises of Parliament Complex, advocate Abhishek Gautam says,
“The video widely circulated showed the MP mimicking the Vice President to defame and insult not only him but also his community, his farmer background as well as the legal fraternity and also the democratic institution of this country.
"I have filed an FIR against Kalyan Banerjee and other MPs who were present there, enjoying the show, including Rahul Gandhi, under section 500/153/34 of IPC.”
Women BJP MPs protested at the Gandhi statue on Parliament premises, over the mimicry row.
West Bengal BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul says:
"...At the last moment, Kalyan Banerjee's name was struck off the TMC delegation that went to meet PM today over 100 days of employment fund. Mamata Banerjee does politics like that...A TMC minister made a disgusting remark about President Droupadi Murmu, but there was no punishment...What can you expect from such a party?
...Mamata Banerjee didn't have the courage to face the Prime Minister with Kalyan Banerjee.
He hasn't apologised yet, he has said that mimicry is not a crime...You are insulting the Vice President - a constitutional head, that is a crime. But Mamata Banerjee will not understand that because they do such politics...She instigates other members to do such politics...".
