The Guardian, London-based newspaper carried a report under caption --
"Indian government ordered killings in Pakistan, intelligence officials claim"
Had it been a decade back under Congress dispensation, government would have looked for cover.
Well, officially the Indian government has 'denied' doing or ordering anything such.
But the assertion from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi show New Delhi is not at all on a back-foot or apologetic about it.
Rajnath Singh has responded to media reports and told CNN-News18 that: "Any terrorist from our neigbouring country try to disturb India ...and also come here and indulge in terrorist activities....then we will give them a 'muh-tod jawab' (befitting reply)".
"And if he runs into Pakistan; then we will enter into Pakistan and eliminate them"
"...Agar bhag kar Pakistan jaega...toh Pakistan me ghus kar marenge".
However, the Defence Minister hastened to add: "India always wants to maintain good relations with its neighbouring countries ... But if anyone shows India the angry eyes again and again, comes to India and tries to promote terrorist activities, we will not spare them".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has said in an election rally: "Sena ka apman...Desh ka vivajan (Insulting our own forces and Partition of India ... yeh Congress party ki pehchan hae .... (these are what Congress party is known for)".
The Prime Minister also said till the time, I.N.D.I alliance people were in power, "they did not allow our forces to function...they chained the hand of our force personnel.......Enemies would come and attack (India), the UPA government then did now allow our security personnel to respond effectively......
"But our government has given mandate and freehand to our forces to give befitting response to enemies on the border".
"Khuli chhut....de di".
"Aaj Dushman ko bhi pata hae.....Yeh Modi hae ....yeh Naya Bharat hae....Yeh Naya Bharat Ghar me ghus kar maarta hae".
(Even our enemies today know it well..This is Modi around here...This is new India/Bharat...And this 'New Bharat' crosses over to enter the enemy house and kill the wrong doers".)
Relations between the countries have worsened since a 2019 suicide bombing of an Indian military convoy in Kashmir was traced to Pakistan-based militants, leading New Delhi to carry out an airstrike on what it said was a militant base in Pakistan.
Pakistan said earlier this year it had credible evidence linking Indian agents to the killing of two of its citizens on its soil. India said it was "false and malicious" propaganda.
The report in the Guardian comes months after Canada and the US accused India of killing or attempting to kill people in those countries.
Canada said in September that it was pursuing "credible allegations" linking India to the death of a Sikh separatist leader shot dead in June – claims that India said were "absurd and motivated".
Why Congress Manifesto silent on Art 370 and CAA -- asks BJP ::::::: "Yeh jo maha thug hae na....Congress party...", says Gaurav Bhatia
The BJP on April 5, Friday, made a blistering attack on the Congress over its manifesto and said it appears the Poll Promise document of the grand old party was prepared by George Soros office or by the Cambridge Analytica.
"...And they have not even read the Manifesto," BJP spokesman Gaurav Bhatia told a press conference adding the grand old party has chosen to remain silent on high-profile issues like Article 370 and CAA.
