Jobs or lack of it .... a major issue but why youngsters still look for 'Govt jobs' and why comfort zones !! ::::::: Bengaluru cafe blast Mastermind, Bomber arrested from hideout in West Bengal

Some data and instances can be misleading. In India - the basic issue of joblessness is linked to 'homesickness' of youngsters and their parents.

On average 7 out of 10 young people and their families and parents look for jobs within their states and cities and even within the respective tiny hamlets. A Haryana boy would not like to work in Meghalaya and a Bengali youth could easily stay away from Rajasthan on the pretext his food habits will be disturbed.

Of course, instances have come when youths have made beeline to work even in Israel or Russia notwithstanding the conflicts in both these countries. But it is obvious maximum of intending youths either have been misled by touts or they themselves have fascination for overseas jobs.

And when there may or may not be private sector job-related issues -- on average out of 10, nine youths and their parents will prefer government jobs. When it comes to government jobs and even civil services, those students who make it generally prefer home-state postings. In many cases what come out is parental pressures and relatives negative campaign against a new place.

I know of young qualified people in Tripura (of course BJP-ruled) where they have appeared tests for court clerks.  In Uttar Pradesh, one middle-aged gentleman told the blogger last year that his brother in law was selected for IAS but the family is still unhappy as he has to serve in one of the violence-prone northeastern states.

Hard work and exploring new worlds are something Indians are staying away and this is complicating the job scene. Then comes issues of political patronage and jugadu culture and eventually corruption as has been reflected in Teachers recruitment scams in West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee and in Haryana when O P Chautala was in power.

In Manipur, reservation issue exploded in such a big way that ethnic conflict was unleashed for months between Hindu Meiteis (otherwise victims of reservation policies) and Christian Kukis and Zos. While there is generally a feeling that the BJP has mishandled the issue somewhat deliberately to help 'Hindu Meiteis'; the issue of Quota did not get debated effectively.

Such issues can crop up in any other state. In 2015, Narendra Modi's own Patel stir was also a glimpse of this phenomenon.

Now taking a look at some statistics, data and anecdotes and everything lead actually to a level of height of deep concern.

**  India overtook Britain in 2022 to become the world's fifth-largest economy. It grew at a robust 8.4 percent in the October-December quarter 2023, helped by a surging manufacturing sector. Yet, there are talks that there are not enough manufacturing jobs.

** Why should people even think of 'bribing' to get Teachers' job. Moreover, state-run Indian Railways always receives millions of applications for hundreds of thousands of mid or low-level jobs.

** Comfort zones of Jugadu culture is very crucial. People plunge into the frenetic race for government jobs.

--- But why? They are prized for their decent pay, other benefits and job security. But the most striking part is -- No accountability about work and of course corruption and under the table payments etc.

** There are some bitter truths nevertheless !!

"The unemployment rate for people with college degrees is nine times higher than that for those who cannot read or write, the International Labour Organization said in an April report. This dynamic creates a surge of overqualified applicants for government jobs," says New York-based magazine 'Newsweek'.

"When a state police department posted job ads for manual office helpers, it was looking for candidates who had completed fifth grade. More than 33,000 people with college degrees applied. These trends have a disproportionate impact on Indian women, who have made remarkable progress in getting access to higher education". - Newsweek

Over half of India's 1.4 billion people are aged under 30. But is estimated and argued that adequate jobs are not rising as fast as the potential workforce is demographically expanding.

In 2022-23, the International Labour Organization said about 29 percent of India's young university graduates were unemployed.

West Bengal link to Bengaluru cafe blast !!!  -- Mastermind, Bomber arrested from hideout in Kolkata

The accused, who were absconding since the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1, were apprehended from their hideout in Kolkata.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the prime accused behind the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru from West Bengal. The accused, who were absconding, were apprehended from their hideout in Kolkata.

The NIA said Mussavir Hussain Shazib had placed the IED at the cafe and Abdul Matheen Taha was the mastermind behind the planning and execution of the blast.

Both of them are already wanted in a 2020 terrorism case. The NIA said Abdul Matheen Taha was involved with the Bengaluru Module of ISIS — Al Hind.

The NIA said the accused were hiding under false identities. In a statement, the NIA said the accused were nabbed in a co-ordinated action between Central intelligence agencies and police personnel from West Bengal, Telengana, Karnataka, and Kerala.

On March 29, the anti-terror agency released the photographs and details of the two accused and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information on each of them.

The agency had said that Shazib was using the name 'Mohammed Juned Sayed' to conceal his identity. Taha was using Hindu identity documents and a forged Aadhar card with the name Vignesh, the agency said.

Last month, the NIA arrested and took into custody one Muzammil Shareef, a resident of Chikkamagaluru, who allegedly extended logistics support to the main accused.

At least 10 people were injured after an IED blast at the famous cafe located in Bengaluru's Brookefield area.

The main accused was captured in CCTV footage on March 1 wearing a full-sleeve shirt, a cap, eyeglasses, and a face mask. He was seen walking towards the cafe with a bag, believed to be carrying the explosive.

At the cafe, the accused ordered rava idli and was captured on CCTV camera placed above a counter in the cafe. However, he did not eat the food and left the cafe. The explosive went off minutes later.

In subsequent CCTV footages, he was seen changing his clothes and appearance multiple times after the explosion.
