If you read some websites and some English newspapers .... Narendra Modi has already lost the elections !! ...
They will prefer Muslim-appeaser Mamata to directionless Crown Prince .....the 'young man' of blogger's age .... but still young and deserves more chances .... who is scared even to decide whether they should contest Amethi or not !!
My advice at this juncture for Sickular intellectuals is some of them should contest Amethi and Rae Bareily.....and settle the disputes, na ??
For some -- like a well known Modi-bashing website -- has a unique manner to ventilate the hatred. One person is quoted as saying, his wife would not vote for Modi over price hike. Hi son would not vote because there is 'corruption' under Modi and he will not vote for his party this time even as he is a strong supporter.
Activity in India's services sector continued to accelerate in February, albeit at a slightly slower pace, according to a business survey.
Inflationary pressures were cooling.
The survey findings inject a sense of optimism in the industry, the engine of economic growth and jobs, suggesting Asia's third largest economy will continue to grow at a world-beating pace this year after registering 8.4% last quarter.
One reality check is according to media reports (western agencies) on April 12, 2024 ---
India's annual retail inflation rate eased in March to a five-month low
--- helped by a drop in fuel prices, government data showed on Friday.
Annual retail inflation (INCPIY=ECI), opens new tab in March was 4.85%, lower than 5.09% in February, and below the 4.91% forecast by a Reuters poll of 50 economists.
Food inflation, which accounts for nearly half of the overall consumer price basket, rose 8.52% in March, compared with an 8.66% rise in February.
Fuel prices fell 3.2% year-on-year, compared with a 0.77% fall in February.
According to the data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO), India’s retail inflation rate dropped to 5.09 percent in February 2024, the lowest in four months.
The retail inflation rate registered a slight drop of 0.01 percent in one month, as it stood at 5.10 percent in January 2024. The current inflation remains in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) tolerance band, which is set at 2 to 6 percent.
A leading English newspaper sounds quite desperate and in desperate sounds 'much ambitious' and perhaps more ambitious than the Congress itself -- that there will be competition in 10 of the 25 seats in Rajasthan. This school of thought a few months back had almost mandated that Congress will retain Rajasthan due to supposed unhappiness of Vasundhara Raje Scindia.
There are many more ..... But we have to also look at some of the basic fault line of such 'campaigns' at the garb of reporting. Actually this is a very old club -- who remember 2002 with a deep sense of hurt. They had given verdict that the then Gujarat CM will go to dooms. The prophecy did not come true.
As the mandate 2014 and 2019 -- the same prophets of doom were busy painting other stories. In 2019 and early part of 2020 -- they encouraged the most unreasonable protest against CAA.
The entire narrative was built on falsehood that Muslims would be deprived of citizenship. The same falsehood industry had claimed Kerala's Marxists had handled Covid crisis 'the best'. However, in the new ministry -- the 'best health minister' was replaced.
The same wise people raised questions on the genuineness of anti Covid vaccine and mocked at PM Modi for sending vaccines abroad under Vaccine Maitri diplomatic strategy. This has helped country build up friendship.
The new and 'falsehood clubs' are also pursuing the new falsehood that there is 'more corruption' under Modi.
They also say Electoral Bonds reflected 'corruption' and they did not mind taking the money.
The Pakistani newspaper 'Dawn' does its part also diligently and reported an article on the first phase of voting under the headline that fits the 'agenda'. --
"- Indian polls start without Modi wave"
The real story of 2024 electoral battle is there is no real competition. The grand old party and its top leaders especially are looking for excuses to blame EVMs and could be something very 'new' to say the polls are bogus etc.
One 'indecent' TV interviewer -- who plants Netas to speak against Modi rather regularly ---- and with new ideas interviewed someone and has said India under Modi is already under 'modern fascism'.
The double standards come to light yet again -- when Kerala's Marxist veteran Chief Minister has reminded Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders that he was behind bars for one and half year during the tenure of Rahul's grand mom as the prime minister.
So, that was tolerant India ?? Real fun could be in Wayand as the communists may surprise everyone and ensure Congress's permanently towering leader's defeat.
The Pakistani newspapers and some English websites must have already decided to blame the EVMs.
Modi's statement that Rahul Gandhi could opt for another seat to contest after April 26 actually makes lot of sense.
In the meantime, one TV anchor is worried. He has to go MP's quarter and stay as his wife is now a 'aapa's MP'. Sandeshkhali ... what's that ??
But on the other side, BJP leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari has pressed the button already. The resultant is 'panic' in Pishi's camp. And to make it worse -- there is a BJP ad song -- "Pishi tui chole ja ... Bangladeshe chole jaa' (Dear aunt please shift your base to Bangladesh)".
Suvendu also said by next two months, Mamata Banerjee may not continue as the Chief Minister. His remarks came amid reports that TMC chief has reportedly cautioned some police officials that she will handle them effectively once polls are over. That will be another set of high-profile drama no doubt.
People of India do realise, why Narendra Modi matters and how he delivered !!
** India is now world's fifth largest economy and by 2029-30, it will become third -- behind China and the United States.
*** Common Indians know today that along with economic power, India is emerging as a global power in geo-politics and strategic sense.
** India's economy grew at its fastest pace in one-and-half years in the final three months of 2023, led by strong manufacturing and construction activity.
Of course these had upset Congress, communists and others, but they did bolster Prime Minister Narendra Modi's economic record just months before general election.
