 PM Narendra Modi reflects on Maha Kumbh: 'It wasn't easy, forgive me if…'

Modi penned his thoughts on 45-day-long Maha Kumbh mela as the grand event concluded on Wednesday, Feb 26th.

Modi shared the letter on X with mesmerising pictures of the grand event and wrote in Hindi, 

"आधुनिक युग के मैनेजमेंट प्रोफेशनल्स के लिए, प्लानिंग और पॉलिसी एक्सपर्ट्स के लिए, नए सिरे से अध्ययन का विषय बना है। 

आज पूरे विश्व में इस तरह के विराट आयोजन की कोई दूसरी तुलना नहीं है, ऐसा कोई दूसरा उदाहरण भी नहीं है।"

"The Maha Kumbh has concluded...the Maha Yagya of unity has been completed. The way the faith of 140 crore countrymen came together for 45 days at the Maha Kumbh of unity in Prayagraj, at one time, and joined this one festival, is overwhelming! I have tried to pen down the thoughts that came to my mind after the completion of the Maha Kumbh...".

The Prime Minister acknowledged that organising such a grand event was not easy. He apologised to the people for any lapses in serving the devotees.  

“I know that organising such a grand event was not easy. I pray to Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, Mother Saraswati, O Mother, if there was any shortcoming in our worship, please forgive us. 

If there was any lapse in serving the devotees, whom I consider the embodiment of God, I also seek forgiveness from the people,” PM Modi wrote on his blog.  

Modi also said that the Maha Kumbh has now become a subject of research for management professionals, as well as planning and policy experts worldwide.

“The massive participation of devotees in the Maha Kumbh is not just a record but it has also laid a strong foundation for centuries to come, reinforcing and enriching our culture and heritage,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister, on his blog, said that the present India, which takes pride in its heritage, is moving forward with new energy.

“People from all sections of society and every field came together in this Maha Kumbh. 

This unforgettable sight of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ became a grand festival of self-confidence for millions of Indians,” he said. 

इस महाकुंभ में प्रयागराज पहुंचने वालों की संख्या ने निश्चित तौर पर एक नया रिकॉर्ड बनाया है। लेकिन इस महाकुंभ में हमने ये भी देखा कि जो प्रयाग नहीं पहुंच पाए, वो भी इस आयोजन से भाव-विभोर होकर जुड़े। 

कुंभ से लौटते हुए जो लोग त्रिवेणी तीर्थ अपने साथ लेकर गए, उस जल की कुछ बूंदों ने भी करोड़ों भक्तों को कुंभ स्नान जैसा ही पुण्य दिया। कितने ही लोगों का कुंभ से वापसी के बाद गांव-गांव में जो सत्कार हुआ, जिस तरह पूरे समाज ने उनके प्रति श्रद्धा से सिर झुकाया, वो अविस्मरणीय है।

भारत की ये एक ऐसी शक्ति है, जिसके बारे में भक्ति आंदोलन में हमारे संतों ने राष्ट्र के हर कोने में अलख जगाई थी।
