Pakistan issues 154 visas to a group of Indian pilgrims to visit sacred Shree Katas Raj Temples

 Pakistan has issued 154 visas to a group of Pilgrims for their visit to the sacred Shree Katas Raj Temples in the Chakwal district, scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 2, 2025. 






Expressing his views on the occasion, Chargé d'affaires of Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi wished the pilgrims a spiritually rewarding and fulfilling journey. 

"Cd'A reaffirmed that the Government of Pakistan will continue to facilitate such visits as per its policy to promote interfaith harmony & mutual understanding," a Pakistani official source claimed. 


The Katas Raj Temples is a complex of several Hindu places of worship connected to one another by walkways. The temple complex surrounds a pond named Katas which is regarded as sacred.

The complex is located in the Potohar Plateau region of Pakistan's Punjab province. 

The temples are located near the M2 Motorway, in municipal committee of Choa Saidanshah in the Chakwal District.


The temples' pond is said in the Puranas to have been created from the teardrops of Shiva, after he wandered the Earth inconsolable after the death of his wife Sati. 

The pond occupies an area of two kanals and 15 marlas, with a maximum depth of 20 feet.
