Two key NNPG protagonists mount pressure on CM Neiphiu Rio and elected legislators to work for expediting the Naga peace process.
60 MLAs are Nagas by blood, Isak Sumi lays emphasis quiet pointedly
"The ball is in the court of Govt of India," said rebel leader and Ato Kilonser of NSCN (Unification) Alezo Venuh.
Talking to reporters in Dimapur, he said both the principal negotiating parties for resolving the long pending Naga issue, - the NNPG and the NSCN (IM) - have submitted their view points on critical and big and small issues to the Govt of India.
Hence he emphasised that New Delhi should take necessary steps to expedite the peace talks for reaching an acceptable Solution to kick-start the process of development and peace in Nagaland.

Alezo: Candid Talk |
Answering questions on whether the NNPG has/had any 'road map' to work for a Common Document between them and the NSCN-IM to sign, Alezo said:
"I think the ball is in the court of India .... The road-map that the Govt of India is ready to give but it is yet to come out with that. I think on our part, we are clear about that," he said.
To another question on whether the NNPG would like to give any message to the Govt of Nagaland (NDPP-BJP combine); the NNPG leader said:
"It is clear the Solution is not going to be ... Sovereignty....That is loud and clear. The Working Committee (of NNPG) has met them (New Delhi authorities) many times and we have shared the Status Paper which is supposed to be agreed upon," he said adding,
"... so the Govt of Nagaland is well aware.... On our part we have met them and have requested them that it is their bounden duty. The present Govt led by our Chief Minister Mr Neiphiu Rio should also take a call."

Isak Sumi and Tikhak : Long way to go as a Team |
Another vocal NNPG leader Isak Sumi (also a working convener of NNPG), said - "It is a fact that the state Govt is a subsidiary of the central Govt.... So when we say state Govt .. that means the position of the central government as well. But one thing is - all the 60 MLAs are all Nagas by blood... So apart from being the subsidiary of the state government, we are hopeful that they are genuinely concerned....
so being on the ground so it is also for them to give the proper feedback to the central government...It is incumbent upon them as the public representative".
P Tikhak Naga, also a newly anointed working convener of NNPG, underlined the need for a united approach at this critical juncture: ".... While we try to resolve the matter, it is important for us to see how the Naga people living in Nagaland, Assam and other Naga inhabited areas...
we need to take care of everybody".
A solemn function was organised to mark the formal 'installation' of three conveners -- Gen (Retd) M B Neokpao, Isak Sumi and P Tikhak Naga (latter two as working conveners) for the NNPG.
Neokpao Konyak underlined the need for unity while pursuing the journey for a Solution to the long pending Naga issue.

G B Neokpao Konyak: Has a historic role to play |
Alezo also said: "The Govt of India is the giver (of Solution formula)... The talks have been completed on Oct 31, 2019....
In Democracy, you cannot accept 100 per cent". On this backdrop he said Naga intellectuals and NGOs and others have also spoken repeatedly about an early Solution. They have given their best....
Our message is loud and clear... Enough is enough. There was a kind of a gentleman's agreement we had (with New Delhi)".
