Time for S C Jamir to call Neiphiu Rio and demand Guru Dakshina !!

Will Neiphiu Rio and Status quo club machinations along with the likes of Himanta Biswa Sarma and Ram Madhav again play being "economical with truth" ? 

Mirror does miracle. A statement issued by NPF says Home Minister Amit Shah had assured Nagaland chief minister-led delegation about a special 'proposed' panel on Naga talks.

'Intelligent Manishankar Aiyars' should check up once more what the chief minister said on Aug 15th. 

"The party claimed that Amit Shah gave a positive assurance regarding the formation of a ministerial team, which Rio subsequently conveyed through the media and announced during a session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA)." (Eastern Mirror, Kohima)

A K Mishra walked an extra mile. Risked his reputation if not the job. He had met NSCN-IM leaders at the Hebron camp, but when utility was over --- Team Rio came out with a brilliant idea of a political negotiator.  

On Aug 14th, V S Atem told journalists in Dimapur - "this is our idea".

Suddenly - the world has changed ! Xi Jinping smiled and held Narendra Modi's hands. Vladimir Putin was also there - all three smiling.

BRICS ... appeared like "Tricks" --- will have a sudden death. 

Why Hebron camp at this juncture - post-BRICS Summit and post-RSS chief meeting with S C Jamir ---- now say it would --  "become impossible for the Naga leadership to return to the negotiating table". 

Claim is good. The claim of being 'Naga leadership' when the Eastern Flank has shown the other side of the coin is certainly exaggerated -- at least New Delhi's mandarins believe so.

Even 'friends of Kohima' may not endorse such a statement.

Nevertheless, BJP's hand-picked Home Minister of Nagaland - Y Patton and his NPF boss - Neiphiu Rio - met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi and they discussed most vital thing --- removal of travel restrictions for foreign tourists.

Muivah in younger days 

The 95-year-old S C Jamir has called certain developments in the state as "Tamasha" - mockery of street-side drama. Former chief minister should for a change now dial Kohima and tell his 'former disciple' --- 

"Youngman you are wrong".

Jamir can also say -- "My Dear Rio, time you pay me Guru Dakshina (fees for the teacher) I have taught you many tricks .... and that fee is not your thumb. 

Your sincerity for a week or a fortnight and we will have the Solution on the table".

In December 2020, Governor R N Ravi said on the eve of the Nagaland Statehood Day, - "Since 1980, the people of Nagaland have suffered enormously by the guns of people from outside the state, inspired by Maoist ideology and tactics."

The NSCN was floated in 1980 and Muivah hails from Tangkhul Naga tribe from the hilly region of Manipur and was thus left out of the 'statehood process'.

Ravi also had said: 

"In pursuance of their new found political ideology (pro-Left and pro-Chinese philosophy tilt of NSCN-IM), which was antithetical to the inherent ethos, values and customary systems of Naga society, unleashed a cultural genocide, akin to the Cultural Revolution in our neighbouring country."

Differences were bound to grow manifold.

The NSCN-IM statement  from the Hebron  says - 

-- "While the Government of India (Gol) loudly beats the drum of peace, dialogue, and diplomatic settlement on the global stage, its failure to honor political agreements exposes a severe pattern of institutional hypocrisy.

During the recently concluded 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, the Gol proudly spearheaded the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration 2026." 

It alleged - the Gol's international commitments stand in stark contrast to its behavior on the ground. 

Things are reaching the point of no return. In all sincerity - one can state that things look quite grim. Now the onus in on the centre and also the BJP - both in the state and the centre - to answer questions mooted by the Hebron ---

"Eleven years later, the Gol has deliberately frozen the implementation of this agreement," says NSCN-IM.
