PM tells Putin -- "Dialogue and diplomacy remains the way forward to resolve conflicts and India ready to assist in peace efforts" :::: Jaisankar feels BRICS must address global market volatility

"PM Narendra Modi held wide-ranging discussions with President Vladimir Putin on various aspects of the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. 

The leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation in sectors including trade, energy, defence, space and people-to-people ties which remain key focus areas of the enduring India-Russia partnership. 

They also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in the regional and global sphere, including conflicts in West Asia and the Black Sea region. 

PM reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remains the way forward in resolving conflicts and India stands ready to assist in peace efforts."  

After their bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin visit the INNOPROM Exhibition at Bharat Mandapam. 

The car diplomacy between PM Modi and Vladimir Putin continues as the two leaders, after their bilateral meeting, travelled together in the same car to visit the INNOPROM Industrial Exhibition.

At Leaders' Session of BRICS Business Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said:

"Right now, the world is undergoing structural, deep, profound shifts. 

It is explained by the fact that the so-called old leaders which used to be the vanguard of economic growth in the second half of the 20th century, are being replaced by new engines of growth. 

"When I say old, this is just a formality - all of us understand what we are talking about. These so-called old leaders are still in possession of great strong suits and well-developed infrastructure, technological advantages, scientific advantages, ...

scientific schools and so on and so forth. 

That's sad, this isn't the nature of things. This isn't the nature of humanity and the nature of economy. The world is always changing...".

Jaisankar feels BRICS must address rising global market volatility

External Affairs Minister S Jaisankar said BRICS must address rising global market volatility by promoting transparent and open trade and investment practices, with the broader objective of strengthening economic stability among member countries.  

Addressing the BRICS Business Forum, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India’s 2026 chairmanship aims to promote balanced trade and expand services trade while ensuring economic cooperation benefits farmers, women entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

Merchandise exports saw a massive rise in 21 years from the BRICS countries

Merchandise exports from BRICS countries surged from $900 billion in 2003 to nearly $6 trillion in 2024, doubling their global share to 24%. India now wants stronger intra-BRICS trade, resilient supply chains and wider opportunities.  

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in India to attend the BRICS Summit 2026. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth received El-Sisi at the airport, marking the beginning of his visit for the high-level gathering.
