Even L K Advani gets EC notice !! :::: Unthinkable happening ? Or Law of SIR 'taking its own course' ::: India's foreign minister Jaishankar, former army chief Upendra Dwivedi and Marxist MP Britas's wife get NOTICE

External Affairs Minister Dr  S Jaishankar and his wife, Kyoko S Jaishankar, are the latest VVIPs to be served Election Commission notices under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi.

Even Election Commissioner S S Sandhu. 

CBI Director Praveen Sood and members of his family, former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, and CPI-M MP, John Britas’s wife and son have also received notices. 

Issues like 'self name mismatch' and 'parent name mismatch' were among the most common reasons.

Veteran L K Advani, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, and SEBI chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey 

L K Advani and his daughter Prathiba on the list were placed under the “no mapping” category. 

All the notices were issued as part of the Election Commission’s ongoing SIR exercise in the constituency.

For Jaishankar and his wife - the issue “unmapped with last SIR” category.

That means their current electoral records could not be linked to the rolls prepared during the previous revision exercise in 2002.  The couple are registered as voters in the Sunder Bagh electoral part of the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

The notices issued to CPI-M MP John Britas’s wife, Sheba Britas, and their son, Anand Britas, cited different discrepancies. 

Sheba was flagged for a “self-name mismatch”, while Anand received a notice over a “parent-name mismatch”. Anand’s notice may have been triggered by the discrepancy identified in his mother’s electoral record.

CBI Director Praveen Sood, his wife Vanita Sood and his mother Kamlesh Sood have also been served notices. All three were categorised as “unmapped with last SIR”.

Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, Sunita Dwivedi, received notices under the same category. 

They are also registered as voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

All these citizens have to establish their eligibility through documents from the 12 categories specified by the EC. 

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and and lawyer-turned-neta Kapil Sibal also fall in this category.
