BJP MP and national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi says, "I think, for the post of LoP, Rahul Gandhi has become a perplexing question.
He has now demeaned the post of Leader of the Opposition from grace and gravitas to a clownish caricature. How does the downfall happen when there is a lack of creativity - Congress party moved from laughter show to standup comedy and settled on vulgarity. I think Congress must introspect...".
"Samanya Hindi mein kahen toh wok jokery mein aa gaye haen" , he said adding - "Once upon a time there used to Hasya kavi sammelan (comedy and satire couplets by Urdu and Hindi poets). ... Then all that turned into laughter show (of TV).
"Is it the same Congress ... does it still hold the authority to claim that it is Mahatma Gandhi's Congress.
"Is it the same Congress of Sardar Patel or even of Pranab Mukherjee or Indira and of Nehru". Trivedi used strong phrase - "aisi nimnta ... nishkrita". (Such low ebb politics)
"Rahul Gandhi has not only demeaned his party's prestige but also that of his family".
"Lootiya saari duba di hae, aisa kiya kamal".
On Education and related issues, Trivedi said:
"People of the country would decide whether whatever the Congress party or Rahul Gandhi are saying can be called foolishness or cunningness.
Education is a Concurrent List subject. What model have you established in the states governed by you?...This man's goal is not 'samadhan' but 'ghamasan'. He forgets that they are in power in four states...".
The BJP spokesman said:
"Muslim League was established by Jinnah, you (Congress) are running a Govt in Kerala in alliance with them.
It is a black chapter in the history of independent India that there are 5 ministers from the Muslim League. Are they absolutely secular?...If someone says that Indian Union Muslim League is not Jinnah's Muslim League, they are lying.
"Its Founder, Muhammad Ismail was the chief of Jinnah Muslim League's Madras Presidency. If Jinnah was called Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ismail was called Quaid-e-Millat.
If this Muslim League is not that Muslim League, then this Congress is not the Congress which was called Indian National Congress."
Addressing a media briefing in Delhi, BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi also said:
"...Former Vice President Hamid Ansari quoted a book which was written in 2019. As per the book, Nehru ji is saying that for him, Communism is not a threat as big as Hindu nationalism.
"For this, I would like to congratulate Hamid Ansari.
He did three really important works: One, he has thoroughly exposed that the Congress has become Muslim League Maoist Congress in totality,
Secondly, he quoted that, as per Nehru ji, Communism was indeed a threat. While the Congress today has headed towards the ultra-Left.
"He has brought in a reference to Nehru. This makes it clear that the things reflected in the words of LoP Rahul Gandhi has their story hidden in their clan."
