"I think I am unfit for comfort....
Mein shaed unfit hoon comfort ke liye; aisa hi lagta hae,"
Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a journalist in a podcast interview.
"The life I have lived ... it was a big in itself. Therefore even a smallest of thing gives me satisfaction. The life of the mindset (mann) of a man is created in his childhood; by and large that gives him satisfaction.
Asked if he ever thought 'comfort' comes on the way of achieving 'your end goal', PM Modi responded:
"I feel most people fail in this life that they get used to comfort zone."
"Even an industrialist if he does not take risk.... does not come out of comfort zone....His comfort zone may be different. But he has to come out.... A person who wants to make progress in any sphere of life, he or she must not ever become used to comfort zone".
"The mindset to take Risk is always a person's driving force," Modi said.
To a question whether his 'risk' taking ability is increasing by the day; the Prime Minister threw up rather a surprising response --- "I think my risk-taking capacity has not been utilised fully. Very less...
"My risk-taking capacity is perhaps multiple times more. There is a reason for that.
Mujhe parwa hi nahi hae ( I do not care a bit)...I have never thought about myself. A person who does not think about himself has immeasurable quantum of risk-taking capacity".
"What I am today and what will happen if I am not in this position... These things do not bother me a bit".
Referring to the US government denying Visa to Modi in 2005 when he was the Gujarat Chief Minister, the Prime Minister said ---- "In my personal life it made no difference that I was denied Visa ... To go to America or not was a very big thing in my life. I have been there in the past.
"But I felt strongly that an elected government (of Gujarat), a state and the country was insulted in the process.
Mann mein kasak thi ... kya ho raha hae (There was a pain inside, what's this going on. Do the world run like this simply because there was an allegation -- of his alleged involvement in 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat ).
"But I addressed a press conference that day (2005) and I said today the US Govt has denied me Visa .... I was asked a few questions. I said, you see ... I can predict a India in coming years that the people will make a beeline for Indian visa
"...ki duniya visa ke liye line mein khari rahegi.
This is what I said in 2005 and today it is 2025....I can see things about India. My youth (younger generation in India) our common man....
"Recently I was in Kuwait, I visited a labour colony. Some Indians are there for last 10 years or so and they hardly come to India only for family functions. There I was told by a labourer... he hails from an interior corner ... he asked me when will his village/home town get an international airport.
If an Indian labourer in Kuwait ... wants an international airport in his home district. This ASPIRATION INDIA will make my Bharat developed country in 2047.
Today, all Indian youths are aspirational."
