Maha Kumbh :::: "Muslims shouldn't set up grocery shops, juice shops, food stalls and tea shops", -says Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad

UP police will be using underwater drones, providing real-time surveillance, especially when millions of devotees throng the ghats to take a dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the Saraswati rivers.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, is set to begin on January 13 and will go on till February 26.

Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad chief Mahant Ravindra Puri said that although they don't have "any enmity" with the Muslims, they cannot set up shops during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj as it would "corrupt religion".

"They shouldn't set up grocery shops, juice shops, food stalls and tea shops, as they spit on the food deliberately."

Citing examples of "Hindu-Muslim unity" in the preparations for the Maha Kumbh, he said that Muslim bands were included in the cantonment entry of the Niranjani Akhada into the Maha Kumbh Mela. He further said that the contractor who built the mutt of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad was also a Muslim.

Iqbal Ahmed, the owner of the Azad Band, which was included in the cantonment entry, said that it was a great fortune for him to be included in the festivities of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
