UP debacle for BJP was due to multiple reasons ::: Even names of BJP's core voters were removed from Voters' list

Something "serious" happened ... ? Was it internal sabotage or foreign interference?

The names of BJP's core voters were removed from the voters' list by election officials at the lower level. In almost all seats, 30,000-40,000 names of the party's core voters were removed, says party's internal report.

Surprisingly, and if you note ... wrong candidates issue is not flagged off yet. Why ?

As for the BJP's poor performance, the following reasons have been given in the report:

Arbitrariness and high-handedness of officials and administration in the state.

Dissatisfaction of party workers towards the government.

Paper leaks in government jobs continuously for the last 6 years.

The opposition's issue of abolition of reservations gained momentum due to the state government giving priority to people of the general category in the recruitment of contract workers for government jobs.

The Rajput community's displeasure with the party.

Statements given by party leaders on changing the Constitution.

Worker enthusiasm reduced till the 6th and 7th phases of voting due to early ticket distribution.

The old pension issue resonated among government officials.

Agnipath scheme was also held responsible in some areas

The internal report also flagged that the percentage of votes received by the BJP from non-Yadav OBCs (Kurmi, Kori, Maurya, Shakya and Lodh castes) had decreased.

The report from UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary also noted that a decrease in the Dalit vote share of Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was behind the Congress's improved performance. The report stated a 10 per cent decrease in the core vote share of BSP. It further said the party got only one-third of the Dalit votes as compared to 2019.

The 15-page report, drafted on the basis of feedback from 40,000 BJP workers across the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, was discussed by the BJP high command in Delhi.

Chaudhary also held a long meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda over the report.

The saffron party fund that the party vote share decreased by at least 8 per cent in all six regions of the state - Western UP, Braj, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Awadh, Gorakhpur and Kashi region.

Notably, the worst performance came in the West and Kashi regions, where it got only 8 seats out of 28.

In Braj, it got 8 out of 13 seats. In Gorakhpur, the party got only six out of 13 seats, while in Awadh it got only 7 out of 16 seats.

In Kanpur-Bundelkhand, the BJP failed to regain its existing seats, winning only 4 out of 10 seats.

"The MLA has no power. The District Magistrate and adhikaris (officials) rule the roost. This is making our workers feel humiliated. For years, the RSS and BJP have worked together, building strong connections in society.

Officials cannot replace party workers," a senior party leader said. The RSS is the BJP's ideological mentor and is credited with building the party's base from the ground up.

Another leader pointed out that at least 15 paper leaks in the last three years alone in the state had led to amplification of the opposition's narrative that the BJP wanted to stall reservations.

"On top of that, government jobs were being filled up by contractual workers, which only strengthened the opposition's misleading narrative about us," he added.
