What makes NSCN-IM headline hunter again ? No, its not violence .... or new demand in Peace parleys !! Clock is ticking ... :: 3 Ds ... Dynasty, Democracy and Decision

Taking a philosophical posture, we may ask -are you all allowed to be the 'real version' of yourself.

What has made the NSCN-IM 'headline hunter' again ? Clock is ticking ... this is serious business.

Dynasty games are on amid debate about Democracy and Decision making.

Family bet --- Pamshin : Hardliner ideologue

How will the legacy pass on ??

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made 'dynasty' almost a bad word in Indian politics vis-a-vis Congress and other regional parties such as DMK and Samajwadi Party.

But Dynasty in corridors of power is not only an Indian reality; its almost an accepted norm in many Asian countries and cultures.

Closer home in Nagaland, Adino Phizo succeeded her legendary father A Zapu Phizo rather effortlessly. We have many players in contemporary politics as well - some by merit; others due to fatherly blessings.

Lately Ikato Chishi Swu has sparked a row. More than a simple controversy as happens normally with power struggles; in this case the Govt of India agencies have been provided with 'food for thought'. Some people have to work hard, do homework and also try out fresh angles of analyses.

One thing is certain 'over dependence' on Kohima channlels which largely glorified Nothing Doing but Poor Performance has come a cropper.

Ikato is son of Late Isak Chishi Swu and he has alleged corruption and the needle of suspicions have touched players in the state capital.

The Govt of India as it is was working to pull up the sleeves. Now what they have is more than the conventional 'food' as inputs.

Ikato Chishi Swu

Ikato's missive is almost a bombshell. But it is a fact he represents the legacy of dynasty.

Now mandarins in Delhi have been provided with 'masala' about the other dynastic angle. Who will succeed Thuingaleng Muivah ?

Of course, New Delhi does not have any clue so far but for all obvious reasons they need to keep an eye on that angle. So far, it was argued in many quarters that as deputy Ato Kilonser V S Atem may succeed him easily.

But it may not be the ultimate inferences if various permutation combination and 'experiments' are analysed effectively.

Analysts in Delhi believe 'extension' of Q Tuccu’s tenure has triggered a mild debate and a sort of a 'milder crisis'.

Initially, in 2019, the NSCN-IM had elected Q Tuccu as Chairman and Tongmeth Wangnao as Vice-Chairman.

As expected; some in the organisation were against this extension. Some other Sema leaders were strong contenders, New Delhi believes.

Earlier too this was debated as Tuccu was made Chairman after the death of Isak Swu in 2016.

The post was lying vacant for a long time.

Sources claim Atem and his team pushed Tuccu's case because Tuccu is the "most harmless" of all Sumi leaders.

He could not predict all that's happening with Naga people

This may drag us to focus on a man called Pamshin Muivah, a product of St Stephens with 'many friends' in Delhi in various fields including media, bureaucracy and the Neta class.

Moreover, his father was a civil servant and his spouse is a medico.

"Pamshin in an influential position will make New Delhi mandarins work harder than they are doing today. Naga insurgency is no longer a game of guns and bullets. Lot of brain work goes in.

Pamshin for Indian government point of view is not a battle hardened leader unlike Muivah or even Atem. Pamshin is more an indoctrinated ideologue and can throw up bigger challenges in future," says someone in the know of things.

A retired military officer endorses such analysis and goes on to say that Pamshin's importance to the Muivah family has grown manifold after Grinder’s death. Pamshin may be the best bet for Muivah’s family.

Grinder Muivah, the nephew of NSCN (I-M) general secretary,  died of a stroke in Delhi on April 6, 2016. He too was very smart operator.

Sources say Grinder was the first to push in the 'idea' of peace talks with New Delhi in 1994-95 with the then MoS Internal Security Rajesh Pilot.

Senior Muivah was arrested in Bangkok for traveling with a false passport in 2000.

Grinder Muivah, who became a dependable 'go-between' between uncles and Indian officials, was also arrested in Kolkata on a charge that he was
trying to 'hijack a plane' from Mizoram capital Aizawl.

Grinder later reportedly struck a deal with a section of central government officials and he was declared not guilty and discharged by a court.

Amit Shah: Collecting inputs from multiple channels

A new refrain in Delhi is the Atem camp believes that if a Sema (from Nagaland state - Tuccu)  continues as the Chairman; Atem could be a natural choice for the powerful general secretary post after Muivah’s death.

But analysts have cautioned New Delhi to go slow in their over estimation of turn of events. Some indicate that after Muivah it could be a dark horse much younger Tangkhul Naga.

The role-play of Dynasty will set in.

Anthony Shimray, army chief, and Phungthing Simrah are also close in the race.

There is another twist in the tale  as the 'Anthony factor' has been blown out of proportion vis-a-vis the differences in the top circles between the Hebron camp and Ikato-H S Ramsan wing now apparently in Myanmar.

Some inputs with New Delhi say a patch up formula may still be worked upon between these two sides.

Phungthing

Dynasty and Democracy are intricately linked to History. And one may say

History seems to be repeating with reports suggesting prominent NSCN-IM leaders and commanders and their associates have slipped into Myanmar and China despite 'surveillance' or the lack of it.
