In political sense often the joke is President's Rule in any state is of course a Double Engine ... but the pilot is one.
One need not have any magical power to Delhi. In this case, the intention to deliver as early as possible is the emotive factor that can be result oriented.
The President's Rule in Manipur is one such experience. It is just a beginning and miracles could not have come in such a short spell.
But it is true things are moving. One visible change what citizens in Manipur are appreciating is that ever since President's Rule has been enforced in the state "no protest" seen over actions from police or security forces.
The narrative that a few units of security forces have sided one community or the other were essentially erroneous and even motivated versions. But even such things have come down or almost vanished. Technically, this is one important facet of President's Rule and as a result security forces feel encouraged to do better job.
Now this comparison table will be helpful to appreciate things on ground-zero.
In last one month since the imposition of President's Rule and as Chief Minister N Biren Singh moved out from the high pedestal; recovery of weapons (post surrender of arms as per the deadline of March 6th, 2025) -- from valley -- stood at -
150. In contrast, 250 weapons have been recovered from hill districts including the likes of Churachandpur and Chandel.
"The surrender of arms is just one facet of a broader effort to restore normalcy to the state. In other efforts to aid early return of peace and normalcy, Governor Ajay Bhalla also inaugurated several important developmental projects.
These initiatives not only signify a commitment to progress but also mark a shift towards rebuilding the state's economy," a retired bureaucrat said.

On this backdrop we may mention that the State Krishi Mela 2025 was also made use of effectively.
This event at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen, Imphal promoted awareness about new technologies, equipment, and government schemes.
It also encouraged dialogue and knowledge-sharing among farmers from across Manipur's districts, paving the way for improved productivity and economic advancement of the people especially in violence-hit pockets.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on March 23, inaugurated several projects at the College of Agriculture and the College of Food Technology.
We may cite another illustration.
In a move that reflects the state administration's commitment to improving healthcare services, the Governor also inaugurated the newly established Dialysis Unit under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program (PMNDP) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal East.
The unit, part of the National Health Mission, will provide much-needed dialysis services to the people of Manipur. This initiative will alleviate the burden on patients, offering them better healthcare facilities close to home.
