India shuts airspace for Pakistan-run flights, military aircraft ::: When it's war; Modi Govt needs to be caution and careful while walking-the-talk

India on Wednesday, April 30, issued a notice restricting its airspace to all aircraft registered, operated, or leased by Pakistan, including commercial airlines and military flights.

New Delhi issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) restricting its airspace to all aircraft registered, operated, or leased by Pakistan, including commercial airlines and military flights.

The airspace closure will be in effect from April 30 to May 23, 2025.

Pakistani carriers had already started avoiding Indian airspace.

India also shut the Integrated Check Post at the Attari-Wagah border, and authorities set a deadline for Pakistani nationals who had entered India with valid documents to exit. Also, all visas issued to Pakistani citizens have been revoked, and travel under the SAARC visa exemption scheme is no longer allowed for Pakistanis.

With India now officially restricting its airspace, Pakistani airlines will be forced to take longer routes through countries such as China or Sri Lanka to reach Southeast Asian destinations like Kuala Lumpur, officials said.

Pakistan earlier shut its airspace to Indian flights after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

India's decision to close its airspace to Pakistani aircraft is part of a series of retaliatory actions taken in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Modi Govt has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, making its revival conditional on Pakistan ending support for cross-border terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced exemplary actions against terror and Pakistan following Pahalgam attack that claimed lives of 25 tourists and one local.

Reflecting on Chinese expert of ancient era Sun Tzu's words would make sense in more ways than one.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle," he had said.

This calls for cautioning and careful walk-the-talk by New Delhi.
