Bengal riot politics may blow big !!! "These people are rioters... Mamata instigating them to go to Delhi and shut down national capital", says Suvendu Adhikari

On West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's meeting with Muslim clerics, BJP leader and LoP in state Assembly Suvendu Adhikari said:

"It was a felicitated meeting. These people are rioters... Mamata Banerjee is instigating them to go to Delhi and shut down Delhi. To go to Delhi, you have to go through Uttar Pradesh. Mamata Banerjee is not in power in Delhi, Bihar and UP. Nitish Kumar and Yogi Adityanath are there...".

On West Bengal violence, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said,

"Abusing the BSF, Central forces, uniformed forces, armed forces has become part and parcel of TMC's culture. They abuse Army, CAPF, CRPF, NSG, NSA, NIA and all of the agencies and this has become their handbook.

The Court has said that the central force should be deployed in Murshidabad because they have no faith in the Bengal Police, that it has become institutional for political violence since Mamata Banerjee has come into power...

This is only being done to protect and defend the rioters because we know that this is state-sponsored violence, state-sponsored targetted attacks on Hindus are taking place...".

On Murshidabad violence, Jangipur SP Ananda Roy, said:

"A total of 273 accused have been arrested. The situation here is under control; it is improving every minute. The shops are open, and the public is roaming freely. It is almost normal. The day before yesterday. around 20 people returned here from Malda shelter home.

Today, around 6 families have returned and the remaining will be returning very soon. Some people have been detained in the father-son murder case...".

Taking serious note of the deeply troubling incident in West Bengal, Chairperson of NCW, Vijaya Rahatkar, took suo moto cognizance and has constituted an Inquiry Committee to investigate the violence.

This follows reports of several women enduring horrific molestation during communal unrest in the Mandirpara area of Dhulian, Murshidabad district: NCW

The BJP on Tuesday took a swipe at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after she appeared to suggest that West Bengal shares a border with Sri Lanka — an island nation over a thousand kilometres away from India.

What began as a fiery political speech by Mamata Banerjee on communal violence in Murshidabad district and alleged conspiracies by the Centre ended in a geography gaffe that the BJP was quick to exploit.

Stressing that Bengal is a sensitive border state, Mamata Banerjee said, "Bengal is the border of Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka". Actually, Sri Lanka is over 2,300 kms away from India and cannot share a border with West Bengal.

However, the BJP was quick enough to spot the mistake in Mamata Banerjee speech. BJP state unit president Sukanta Majumdar took to X and posted, "According to geography expert & Failed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, the state now shares a border with Sri Lanka! Move over, maps — Didi's imagination has redrawn South Asia!"
