India is 'convinced' .... "strategy of multi-alignment" is the best ::::: New Delhi's new ties with China is 'only out of necessity' ... not one of embrace ::::: In May, Chinese weaponry used by Pakistan 'could not do much'

China is set to show off military might in parade attended by anti-west leaders including Vladimir Putin

Leaders of Iran and North Korea will also be at event marking 80 years since defeat of Japan in second world war

In May 2025, Chinese weaponry were used by Pakistan against India. But New Delhi's Operation Sndoor had the upper hand.

Pakistan used Chinese J10-C jets but all that did not do much. Of course, the role of 'Chinese kit' in India-Pak conflict of 2025 was never officially acknowledged by Beijing.

Xi Jinping has another area of concern. The battle nonetheless highlighted "China’s military capabilities" vis-a-vis its future role in possible conflict over Taiwan.

For certain things are clear. The limits of bond with Russians is clear no doubt.

Importantly, from the geo-political perspective countries such as Japan, France and Australia will come to play a more significant role in both mid-term and long-term relationship.

It would be also relevant that while in India - the Babudom and officials subordinate to the Prime Minister work out details before a Summit or tele chats take place; in the US -- the top leader imposes his will. This has also contributed in creating the mess in the Indo-US relations as a result of the Trumpian policies and whims and fancies.

As far as Chinese parade of military strength is concerned; it may be important to assess properly why Putin and North Korea's Kim will attend the Victory Day parade !!

"Leaders from countries united in their opposition to the west will gather in Beijing in a show of support for China’s president, Xi Jinping, at a second world war commemoration parade," says an article in 'The Guardian' - published in London.

The parade show is designed to show off China’s military strength and geopolitical might.

Described by western analysts as “the axis of upheaval”, the military, economic and political collaboration between Russia, China, Iran and North Korea

... has been on display on the battlefield in Ukraine and in the Middle East this year.

India is a new entrant but a cautious mover. N

New Delhi cannot fundamentally trust Beijing any more than it can believe Trump's Washington. Of course, Kolkata-based 'The Telegraph' cites a good example to substantiate this claim.  On Aug 20, India test fired the Agni-V missile -- "which it does not need against Pakistan, but which can reach the farthest regions of China".

Moreover in Tianjin; PM Modi did not make any reference to China-Pakistan friendship or the military help provided by China to Islamabad. This emphasises that India is keen to strengthen relations with Xi Jinping-ruled China. For its part Beijing has also put forth a point -- that there are merrits for the two countries to be friends.

But on Wednesday, Sept 3rd, it will be Beijing that takes centre stage as the world’s second-largest economy and rising superpower presents itself as an alternative to a western-led global order.

"The tightly choreographed military parade through Beijing’s Tiananmen Square to commemorate 80 years since the defeat of Japan in the second world war – referred to in China as the war of resistance against Japanese aggression – will be attended by 26 heads of state," says the piece in 'The Guardian'.

Now look at the list -- Russia, North Korea and Iran, leaders from Myanmar, Mongolia, Indonesia, Zimbabwe and central Asian countries will witness China’s unveiling of a range of combat-ready weaponry.

The only western leaders on the guest list published by China’s ministry of foreign affairs are from Serbia and Slovakia.

Xi Jinping is obviously eyeing a new role for the new global order.

He and Modi agree that the world should be multipolar. But Xi goes a step further -- he wants the new global order should be led by China.

Blogger in north east : Small arms reach the region with 'Chinese help'

Wednesday’s bonanza comes “quite shortly after the awful US parade”, said Siemon Wezeman, a senior researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. It would “rub it in from the Chinese side”, he said

The missive for Trump will be -- “if you do parades, we can do it better than anyone else”.

In recent months China has been stressing the importance of its narrative about the defeat of Japan in the second world war, which minimises the role of the west.

Earlier this year, when Xi visited Moscow for Russia’s Victory Day parade, he wrote an article calling for the “correct historical perspective” on the war.

Xi said China and the Soviet Union were the principle theatres of war in Asia and Europe, and that the two countries “served as the mainstay of resistance against Japanese militarism and German nazism, making pivotal contributions to the victory of the world anti-fascist war”.

Xi’s article made no mention of the US or European contributions against the axis forces in the war.
