Namo stye - a new name for Manipur "A Land of gems" .... universal appeal to Meiteis and Kukis :: "A new dawn of hope & trust emerging" ::::: .... in Manipur, PM Modi says --- "I know your struggles very well .... I promise ... I am with you"

Back with his strong points ... on how to communicate - Namo says--

“There is ‘Mani’ (gem) in the name of Manipur. It is that ‘Mani’ which is going to make the entire Northeast shine in the future".

** This is the best 'inclusive' way to move ahead when divisions between Kukis (Zo people) are so sharp and bitter with the Meiteis.

Left to Modi -- he would have called Manipur -- Gem-pur

... that's 'a Land of Gems'

“I appeal to all organisations to move forward on the path of peace, fulfil your dreams, and secure the future of your children" - Namo

Modi launches historic  Rail line for #Mizoram ... will the state and Lushais, Hmars and Chakmas be grateful to him?

Or --- the Manipur violence 2023 shadow still in people's mind ?

MIZOS. share ethnic bonds with #Kukis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his first visit to Manipur since the 2023 ethnic violence, urged all groups to choose peace to secure their children's future.

He laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 7,000 crore and highlighted major investments to boost road, rail, and air connectivity in the state.

-- says -- "I know your struggles very well".

Modi began his three-day tour of Northeast and eastern India with a visit to Aizawl in Mizoram on Saturday morning, where he inaugurated the Bairabi–Sairang rail line.

This path-breaking project connects Mizoram to the Indian Railways network for the first time.

“I appeal to all organisations to move forward on the path of peace and fulfill their dreams.

I promise you that I am with you; the Government of India is with you, the people of Manipur,” he said.

Modi described Manipur as a land of hope and promise, adding that the state is beginning to recover after a spell of violence that had gripped the region.

“A little while ago, I met the people affected who are staying in camps, and after speaking with them, I can say that a new dawn of hope and trust is emerging in Manipur,” he said.

The Prime Minister emphasised that establishing peace is crucial for development in any region. “Over the past eleven years, many long-standing disputes and conflicts in the Northeast have ended. People have chosen the path of peace and prioritised development,” he said.

“To bring life back on track in Manipur, the Government of India is making every possible effort, including helping build 7,000 new homes for families made homeless,” he said.

The prime minister said that a special package of around ₹3,000 crore has been approved, with a separate ₹500 crore provision to assist those affected, and measures are underway to support Manipur’s tribal youth.

Manipur violence - 2023

Modi should not have missed election campaign in Mizoram in 2023 as well as during Lok Sabha elections in 2024. But the issues for debate are not guided by personal dislikes or otherwise.

Avoiding election campaign in 2023 and 2024 were considered  strategic moves in safe-play.

Mizos share ethnic bonds and even language with Kukis and the BJP leadership did not want anything silly like black-flag demonstration against their superstar poll campaigner.
