What's the whole idea about this Fusion?
Is this happening for the first time ?
Let us not go into that.
But the focused aim has been to :
-- "Improve the efficiency and responsiveness of Security Forces through informed and constructive engagement with civil agencies".
As we know political leader(s) known for critical views of things in Nagaland and in the country is/are expected to share their ideas and vision.
Organised by the office of GoC, Nagaland (or HQ, IGAR - North), it will be also addressed by civil and police officials.
We have been told that the Military Civil Fusion Seminar is conceptualised as a strategic initiative aimed at harmonising the roles and responsibilities of civil administration and the armed/ security forces.
The central objective is to cultivate a unified approach that enhances regional development, fortifies internal security and strengthens inter service trust - is the refrain.
The three-day event will be of course addressed by Brig Samir K Palande, Deputy IGAR-North.
In fact, the organisers hope the 'holistic development' of the nation will be also considered and thus the deliberations will promote the concept of integrated governance and security coordination.
There are a few interesting themes that will come into debate.
One of them is -- "Building Resilient and Empowered Communities through Education, Active Engineering and Informed Participation & Sports Integration".
This makes a typical logical sense for north east.
Now, how to look for points of relevance for such brain-storming sessions by men and women in uniform and those without 'uniform' -- as the word civil on the face value suggests.
-- We may try to see it from media perspectives too.
The civil administrators may feel tempted by the missionary zeal of the forces.
Equally the military also will feel the excitement associated in the works of the civil administration.
This makes the ‘get together’ and brain storming sessions a real combo a 'win-win' situation braving the hurdles.
We may share here that - as a refresher point -- From the Govt of India – the Ministry of Defence had declared the year 2025 as the 'Year of Reforms’
We also know - the people of India and especially in north eastern region have shown patience and trust in the winning partnership of the Military-Civil Combine.
There is a realisation that somebody will have to ‘walk first’ and reach out to the partners in the civil administration.
This may give a chance to the ‘civil administration’ to manifest its sincerity and greatness.
We believe there would be some who will show fingers at those who are wrong or have certain lapses. But surely there will be some people who will respond and accept the 'hands' in a unity of purpose and understanding.
Good corrective steps may emerge finally.
